" Amazing! I love it, I love it, I love it!!!!!!
i am a fan from the first 12bars!!! "Sylver Logan Sharp , Chic
"Exceptionally good for their age" CBC Radio
"Very unique" Eric Longley, CTV.
"The Magical Bunch has a sound that will regale fans of various musical genres. Theirs is a peppy, upbeat blend of styles that is simultaneously fresh and new while sounding familiar and listener-friendly. Without previous knowledge of their tender age, you might think you're hearing previously unknown music from the Motown area instead of brand new work from a young band" Chief Jack , The Mohawk Radio Show.
Made of four siblings age 10-16, the Ottawa based Afro-fusion band The Magical Bunch is receiving some serious attention with its prodigious young talent, distinctive sound and its humanitarian mission.
The Magical Bunch dares to be different. Combining a variety of styles such a rock, funk, r& b, Afrobeat and jazz fusion, The Magical Bunch has discovered a unique sound full of energy, mystery and kids'playfulness.
16-year-old Christian Ryangoma(guitar and vocals), brother Christopher(bass, age14) and stisters Victoria(drums, age 12) and Vestine (keyboards and lead vocals age 10), have been playing together for a year and half, and they have already caught the attention of thousands of myspace visitors, landing them on Canada's CTV, and CBC television and radio.
For the four Ryangoma children, forming a band is as natural a calling as it is a way to spend quality time together. The children of Berklee-trained musician Iggy Ryangoma have been exposed to a wide range of popular music since infancy. Their influences range from pop/R&B artists like The Jackson Five, Jo Jo and Alicia Keys to great jazz artists like George Benson, Herbie Hancock and Marcus Miller.
The Magical Bunch has roots in Rwanda, from where Christian and his parents fled during the genocide in 1994. Christian was just 15-months-old at the time.
AT that time, it was music - Iggy's Fulbright Scholarship to Berklee College of Music - that brought the family out of harm's way to the United States. Music has since played an integral role in healing the emotional aftermath of their experince: the band's single, "Made of Fire," is one of many original tunes written by Iggy in the years since the family's resettlement. Now, The Magical Bunch hopes to use their original music to entertain and educate, bringing awareness and funds to international relief organizations, through recordings and live performances.
Last year The Magical Bunch obtained an endorsement deal through Erikson Music for new music gear: Pearl drums, Washburn bass guitars, Korg keyboards, Hagstrom guitars, Digitech fx, Marsall Amps, Hartke amps and more.
The band has now signed a management and production contract with Grammy-award winning producer Jason Miles(Sting, Luther Vandross, Chaka Khan etc); and they are currently working on their first Album.
