The Mayfields emerged from the embers of C86 with a love of indiepop. There was nothing better than buying your favourite bands record in the week and then playing support to them the following week. During our short time together we played support to some of the greats including Razorcuts, Jasmine Minks, Close Lobsters and the Pooh Sticks. Three vinyl releases were made - the now legendary flexi - 'All you ever say' which was shared with fellow Salisbury band the Badgeman. This was followed with releases on Ambition Records - Call my name/world of your own, and the Bus Stop release of Feels like yesterday/deeper than the ocean.
Highlights....? Well that has to be Malcolm Mclaren reviewing the World of your own single in the NME. Lets just say he wasn't very polite.........
