I was born in a Sanford, NC hospital on September 23rd, 1974. I grew up with my brother Jeff in Cameron, North Carolina, deep in the heart of the Dirty South (love that). I had a dream as a kid to be a professional wrestler for the WWE--for the last eight years and change, I've been doing just that. I am very lucky and fortunate and happy and blessed. I've had an amazing life, better than I probably deserve, HA! I want all of the people who have helped me to understand me more, and help them realize that we're all the same, we're just on different paths. Part of my reason for having this page is to give back and inspire others through my words and stories, like others have done for me. I want people to get the most out of every day of their life, and realize what's really important and meaningful--to try hard, smile, and enjoy themselves--life is too short not to make everything and every step count.
There are so many great people that I have had in my life that I need to thank. So many wonderful people have helped me to grow as a person and a professional--and have assisted me in leading such an incredible and memorable life. This list will be never-ending.

Who I'd like to meet: There's actually no one I would like to specifically meet.. Probably the coolest "meet" I've ever experienced was Eddie Vedder, along with the band Pearl Jam, who I'm a big fan of. Stone Gossard's nephew is a big Matt and Jeff Hardy fan, and Pearl Jam's people arranged for him to meet Jeff and I when we were in Seattle for Wrestlemania 19. In return, Pearl Jam hooked us up and we watched the Charlotte '03 show on the stage with the band, as well as meeting and hanging with the band. I have always been very captivated and inspired by Pearl Jam and Eddie Vedder's music and lyrics. So this was very cool for me. Any of the wrestlers who were my favorites growing up, I've met already. The people that I actually take the most pride in meeting these days are my fans and friends who support me through thick and thin.
