 
BIOGRAPHY
The Scrabble were born at the beginning of 2007 in Turin, NW Italy, and founder members still compose the band’s lineup. No need to spend many words to present them, it’s much easier to listen to their songs. But altogether, you’ll see, The Scrabble are definitely a band for those who like and search for a refined and not common way to write and play rock music. A brilliant unofficial debut in 2007 with the self produced Blue Ep, dozens of gigs played in their hometown and neighbourhoods in less than one and a half year, and in November 2008 The Scrabble started working at their first official Ep, titled “Most unlikely often happens”. The record is produced by Dave Timson and Mik Lennard, and it is fully out on Myspace from Monday May 4, 2009.
How many thoughts and meanings can be hidden under a scrabble on a blank sheet? Close your eyes, relax, blow away with their music. You’ll get the answer.

NOIZE MUSIC (ITALY)
I giovanissimi The Scrabble ci danno in pasto il loro primo lavoro ufficiale, un gustoso ep di sei canzoni registrato in Uk (per la precisione presso gli studi Doubleminds Records). I ragazzi di Torino riescono a coniugare abbastanza bene un sound made in England con qualche sfuriata più decisa. Sarà forse l'uso delle tastiere molto convincente e che colora molto bene le canzoni, o le atmosfere un pò "swingate" e rilassate che ritroviamo un pò in ogni pezzo, ma ogni tanto vengono alla mente i nostrani The Fire.
La maggioranza dei pezzi è strutturato come un midtempo dal mood fumoso, un pò swingato come scrivevo prima: l'atmosfera inglese deve gioco forza aver dato qualcosa in fase di registazione di questo ep. Pezzi come l'iniziale "Devil's Hand" mostrano già un gran gusto negli arrangiamenti supportato da una buona tecnica: un potenziale singolo dal discreto fascino e appeal. Meno bene quando i nostri giocano la carta del lento cercando qualche soluzione un pò stucchevole e di routine.
Un ep di presentazione che non dispiace affatto, i The Scrabble mettono in mostra tanta personalità e delle (buone) idee piuttosto chiare che potrebbero regalarci in futuro una bella sorpresa.
