While discovering the music of the early 90's through the TV show "120 Minutes" on MTV, Julien Bouchard fell in love with bands like Dinosaur Jr, The Lemonheads and Sonic Youth. After several false starts, Julien decided to compose alone in 2004. Following two demos, recorded with the invaluable assistance of Régis Metzger, (THE) SILENT DAYS started to take shape. Joined by Vincent Hermon on drums and with Régis handling bass, they recorded nearly 20 songs at Studio Microclimat in 2006. Attracting attention from the Belgian label Anorak Supersport in 2007, they signed a contract and recorded their first album with John Roo (Hollywood Porn Stars, Sharko and Experimental Tropic Blues Band).
On the 11 tracks of their debut album "I am nothing", (THE) SILENT DAYS began to mix their many influences to produce songs combining sweet pop in the style of Ben Kweller (Without A Sound) with a more rough-and-ready lo-fi rock reminiscent of Sebadoh among others (In The Park). From a fruitful collaboration with Ken Stringfellow (The Posies) came "Any Summer Days", a true jewel of college rock with melancholy lyrics, which is proving to be one of the album’s finest moments. The band also brought in American singer Kate Sikora who, from her adopted home Japan, agreed to lend her melodious voice to the excellent "Never My Eyes".

GAINFULLY DEPLOYED
I am probably too tired to be writing...yes...this will be short. I spent the first half of the week in the small town of Epinal, in Lorraine, eastern France, working with the excellent band Jul' in their studio. I played guitar, keyboards and sang on three songs. They were excellent hosts--making dinner each night, and letting me drink their best and oldest wine; and they were great hosts to my son as well.

Pour la deuxième édition du Cheese Prog Event, Orignal Music invite sur la scène du Molodoï à Strasbourg l' excellent groupe Italien Accordo Dei Contrari (élu meilleur groupe de rock progressif Italien dans leur pays en 2008), le tout jeune groupe Taennchel (excellent mélange de rock acoustique mégalithique) et le mystérieux Camembert (groupe progressif avec harpe et instruments électriques et acoustiques).
Dernier concert d'Hallway Passage pour 2009, avant une longue période de reconstruction: de nouveaux projets, un nouveau line-up, un nouveau set, un nouveau son. Le lieu, la date et l'horaire sont sur notre myspace!
