The Vowel Movement was created in June 2003 by Tim Barsky & Bryan
"Process" Neuberg to support the art of beatboxing in the Bay Area and
beyond. Since then, Vowel Movement has become known as the premier left
coast beatbox crew through a monthly series, artist development,
documentation and archiving of bay area beatbox, and events that have
ranged from the subway to the elevated. The Vowel Movement Crew
includes more than 2 dozen of the best beatboxers in NorCal, as well as
affiliates from nyc, london, philly, and around the globe.
Vowel Movement frequently collaborates with instrumentalists,
vocalists, poets, breakdancers, and other performers; and provides an
open mike for new talent. Artists who have rocked the stage
with Vowel Movement include: Rahzel
the Godfather of Noize, Scratch of the Legendary Roots Crew, Doug E.
Fresh, Kenny Mohhamed, Black Sheep, P.E.A.C.E. from Freestyle

On June 9th & 10th, Vowel Movement celebrated our third anniversary
with "Stick 'Em, a beatboxing festival. highlights included the
final rounds of the 2006 West Coast Open Batbox Battle, packed houses,
and a stellar set from grammy award winning beatboxer Scratch,
