Timefall's 'Ember City' on BBC Radio Essex 18th April 2008
TIMEOGRAPHY
Rather than being a band that follows current trends, Timefall remain adamant and stick to their roots, fusing influences from many different musical areas and disciplines. The band are always looking to take their song-writing to new levels, whilst staying true to the beliefs that motivate them to play music.
Since Timefall exploded onto the stage in July 2006 they have taken the UK by storm, amassing a cult following among musicians and fans across the globe from South America to Australia.
2007 saw the release of Timefall's first self-produced album 'Into the Shadows' which featured the acclaimed 18 minute song 'The Last Day on Earth' (which then went on to win the 'Long- Track of the year award' at Rock247online).
2007 was also a good year for live shows with gigs taking place all across the country. In the summer Timefall took part in many big festivals such as Bloodstock Open Air, Bulldog Bash and Rockoff Festival. Later in the year Timefall was priviledged to play alongside progressive metal giants 'Threshold' for the Classic Rock Society.
In early 2008 the band entered the studio again to make a short 2 track EP of their previously unreleased material, entitled 'Your Days Were Mine'.
2008 is now well underway and Timefall have been playing concerts with two new members, to much acclaim. Things are very productive at the present time, with many new songs taking shape and exciting concert dates being arranged!
REVIEWS
TIMEFALL @ ROCKOFF FESTIVAL
At around 15 bands per stage per day, it would take me yoinks to mention
them all but highlights for me were early on Saturday, TIMEFALL.
one of the best
bands around at the moment. Like a cross between a 70's underground/prog
rock band seeking ever harder time changes and a bang up to date metal
outfit. It sounds like it should be too busy for a metal fest but it worked and the
crowd were very enthusiastic.

TIMEFALL GIG @ THE DOME (TUFNELL PARK)
Finally we will finish with the last band of the evening, Timefall.. This is another English group, whose formation took place in 2005. It is formed by 4 members: Jonathan Tatum (vocals and keyboards), Matt Shepherd (guitar), Dan Russell (bass gitar) and Michael Lennon (drums). This band is completely different to Messiah and Kyrb Grinder.
They mix many styles of music, but I think they are characterised by symphonic metal. They have many instrumental parts in their music which make you enter in a fantastic atmosphere as introduction, and after it they change from this melancholic atmosphere to a complete protagonism of guitars and Jonathan's voice, which can be very variable because he cab change the register of his voice with no problem, regarding to many other big rock vocals.
Specifically they have a song which lasts more than 18 minutes, in which they showed us all that this band can offer. It was incredible to see something like that, the song is titled "The Last Day On Earth", and is a complete masterpiece. Here they have demonstrated the high level of composition that they have. They showed us another song titled "Ember City" which lasts more than 6 minutes, so you can see the level of this band, they make great songs with much quality introducing keyboards in it.
