Brooklyn based Singer/Songwriter/Producer/Guitarist Tomas Doncker is
releasing his World/Soul EP "Small World" due out in August
independently on his own label GroovySexMusic. This new collection of
songs mixes the flavors of World Music with the in-depth Soul
progressions that makes up the sound of Tomas Doncker. His music has
been described as earthy, sultry and sophisticated, focused on
poignant lyrics and soulful grooves. His music appeals to a global
community that bridges the unity of listeners with spirit and harmony.
The first single "Children of Darfur" has caught the interest of such
humanitarian organizations as FreeDementional, Enough Project, The
Solar Cooker Project and Jewish World Watch. Co-producing the new EP
with Tomas is master percussionist Daniel Sadownick along with the
production team of Hollins Steele. The album is being recorded at The
Steele Factory www.thesteelefactory.com in Brooklyn, NY.
He has recently finished up recording the EP Small World after touring
around the country in support of his CD "InsideOut". He has used the
same band to record both recordings and has received critical acclaim
around the country for their live performances in New York, Chicago,
Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington, DC. His longtime band is
comprised of Daniel Sadownick on Percussion(Steely Dan/Matisyahu/Raul
Midon), Booker King on bass(Santana/Lila Downs), Etienne Lytle(Freddy
Jackson/Elizabeth Withers) and rising star Camelia Qabazard on
backinig vocals.
"Small World" features guest appearances by Soul and World music
luminaries Martha Redbone, Karen Bernod, Audrey Martells, Keith
Fluitt, KUKU,Ayib Dieng,Karma Johnson and Caitin Meissner.
Tomas has upcoming dates in NYC at The Blue Note, Brooklyn Academy of
Music, Shrine Cafe, Solomon's Porch, Frank's Lounge and has just been
asked to participate in the New York City River to River Music
Festival which brings Free music to the public.

Producer, Singer, Songwriter & Guitarist Tomas Doncker has been a mainstay on the New York music scene for over twenty years. He cut his teeth hanging out downtown in the fertile punk-funk explosion of the 1980s. Quickly, he found himself among the ranks of New Yorks groundbreaking musical elite, and in such groups as:James Chance & The Contortions, James White & The Blacks, Defunkt, Latin-groove-meisters Konk and New Yorks absolute 1st hip hop group, J. Walter Negro & The Loose Joints (featuring Grammy-nominated pianist Arturo OFarrill).
Tomas has amassed performance and recording credits with a diverse list of musical luminaries including: Bootsy Collins, Ivan Neville, Yoko Ono, Amp Fiddler, Bonnie Raitt, folk-pop-diva Morley, Japanese saxophonist Sadao Watanabe, Grammy winner Prince Charles Alexanders City Beat Band & spoken word / hip-hop pioneers Sonya Sanchez & Toni Blackman. The result of Tomas' passion for production and artist development,
can be heard on several upcoming releases: kyra gaunt's"be the true revolution", Nick Martin's "Lonesome Time" & A collection of works with poet Hermine Pinson titled "Change the Change". Tomas has just finished working on a collection of new songs with pulitzer-prize winning poet Yussef Komonyaka titled " the mercy suite."
The album features performances by some of contemporary music's most ground breaking artist such as Meshell Ndegeocello, Chocolate Genius, Morley, Marvin Sewell, Karma Johnson, Brandon Ross, Camelia Qabazard, Booker King, Daniel Sadownick and Corey Glover. The Album will be released early this year. Currently residing in Brooklyn New York. Tomas records and performs with his trio, and is finishing his highly anticipated "acoustic/soul" CD.
