I Tom Moto nascono nel novembre del 2006 grazie all'incontro di Giulio Tosi al basso, Juri Massa alla batteria e Marco Calcaprina alla tromba. Dopo aver registrato il primo demo nel gennaio 2007 contenente 4 tracce al Syncropain Studio di Pisa si dedicano all'attività live collezionando concerti in tutta Italia. Nell'agosto del 2007 registrano il primo disco ufficiale "Junk" grazie al sostegno di Ivan A. Rossi che lo produce. Il gruppo si rinchiude 10 giorni allo Shape Recording Studio a Cascina e dà alla luce un cd contenente 12 tracce. 3 di queste sono readings tratti da "Post Office", il capolavoro di Charles Bukowski letti da Alex Zobel. Il disco verrà mixato nel corso del 2007/2008 all'Apricot Studio di Milano fino alla travagliata uscita nel dicembre del 2008 grazie al sostegno di Loris Furlan e della Lizard records. A pochi mesi dall'uscita sono numerose le recensioni sui più importanti magazine italiani (Rumore, Blow Up, Mucchio, Rockerilla ecc.) che si possono scaricare sul blog di questa pagina. Inoltre grazie a "Junk" i Tom Moto vincono i Progawards 2008 come best debut album, inoltre vincono la XIII rassegna di Musica Diversa "Omaggio a Demetrio Stratos" del 2009.
