Smell the rain, feel the earth, put your ear to the ground.
This is where you’ll hear the sound of THE ROOFTOPS’ latest EP, ‘Clean Dirt’;
A fresh journey of barefooted sole searching and deep rooted grooves.
It’s time to get dirty.
It’s been 3 years since the band’s highly successful debut album, ‘Storm Season’.
The single, ‘Making Photographs’, received regular airplay on Triple J. ‘Roots and All’ presenter, Sarah Howells is quoted as saying that ‘THE ROOFTOPS are my favourite band of the summer.’
Since then the band has cultivated its fresh organic sound and uplifting vibes at the Bowery Bar, home to THE ROOFTOPS for the past 3 years straight. The band has recently carved up a Melbourne tour, and has also supported acts such as Bobby Flynn, King Farook, Rob Longstaff, and the Melodics.
Current EP, ‘Clean Dirt’, invites listeners on an excursion through musical contours of revitalising soul, reggae, and funk grooves. A mature honesty is reflected in front man, Euan Gray’s captivating storytelling style. His timeless messages are complimented by solid backbeats, shimmers of spontaneous musical interaction, and just an overall feel-good vibe.
Rediscover your roots in ‘Clean Dirt’.
THE ROOFTOPS launch the EP at the Troubadour on April 19. Bring ya mum.

McCoy Harvey, what a dynamite bass sound on the new song, very distintive sound you have , it reminds me of the Big Goose's unique Fender L Series bass sound. You can hear it on TV at the moment on "It's a man's world" with Renee Geyer on the Admen on Thursdays, the story of the advertising people in the 50's in New York on the ABC, Love, Dad.
