Over the past two years, Redhead has been busy crafting and refining the sounds on her soon-to-be released debut album. The solo project saw her work with acclaimed drummer and producer, Tim Powles from The Church – taking on indie pop/rock with a quirky and sometimes dark outer layer. Tim is also known for his work with Iota, Laura Imbruglia
Tracy's honest songs will inspire and move you. She has a wide vocal range and eclectic song writing style. Tracy's lyrics tell stories of politics, friendship, happiness and struggle. Her smooth delivery and quirky personality give her a unique sound and captivating presence.
The single will be released by new Sydney label Perfect Sun, which is the new venture of Richard Roberts who has signed amongst many PJ Harvey, Stereolab and Seefeel in his time as founder and owner of legendary London label Too Pure. Distribution is nationally via Inertia.

"No Tracy, you're not fooling me - that's not an official review me post it note. But since your polite enough to ask, and you have been brave enough to wear a tu tu into the townie in the early hours of the morning (no, really…) you deserve some recognition. And what comes out is beautifully rich pop music that builds on Ms Redhead's voice, that skips and dances melodically to begin with before reaching inside itself and surging over you with an almost surprising power. With a full band that cradles rather than overwhelming her, and full string arrangements and all, this has depth beyond most indie stuff of the same status. Awfully Good." Ross Clelland, Drum Media
"Tracy Redhead seems to be one of the little heroes of the Sydney acoustic scene. A new style folk artist fronting an ensemble of drums bass, guitar and violin." - The Single Guy, The Brag
