Truely was the first bassline i ever taught myself to play....I miss those days of seeing youguys at la luna of the ex ray.....portland lost true beauty when hazel broke up. They will forever be one of my favorite bands.

Picture if you will, an East Coast lad..fresh off a jet for two weeks of exploring PDX - I'm hustled to a mysterious place of business called "Fred Meyer" for beer, and then to Ozone, where I recall buying a Crackerbash 7". I'm told by the girl behind the counter that Hazel is playing at the X-Ray that very evening..its like a foreign language that seems all at once familiar. That show sent me for a loop, and all my postcards to friends said something to the effect of "holy shit!! you have to find this bandl!!" in hectic ballpoint. I'll never forget that sound. If you had a nickel for every mixtape and CD I've put Hazel on, well..it'd be like $2.15. Thanks for everything past present and future!!!!
