Since 1999, TN KAT has been presenting multi-disciplinary artists in venues focused on new work from the Asian Pacific Islander artists as well as artists from the larger Los Angeles arts community. Originally envisioned as Tuesday Night Projects (TNP) a multi-disciplinary space at a time when the performance scene was genre-centered, TN KAT has built its reputation on the Tuesday Night Project’s flagship series: The 1st & 3rd Tuesday Night Café Series. Hosted spring through fall, it is currently, one of the longest running free public art space and revitalization project of Little Tokyo/Downtown L.A.
TN KAT has also branched out to reach as well as feature artists and spaces around the globe through their live-streaming the TN-TV Live program. KAT Radio Podcast creates original segments such as DJ Stories. No matter the venue, TN KAT actively seeks new work from the API community and from the local L.A. arts community. TN KAT is also proactive in their efforts to seek out new voices - young, womyn, queer to name a few areas of particular focus.
Through the 1st & 3rd Tuesday Night Cafe, TNP's collective of artists, educators, community organizers, entrepreneurs, and students continue to create space and time with all walks of life - building bridges between themselves, the project, and people all over, with the firm belief that PEOPLE are each others greatest wealth of resource.
Presented by TN Kat, The 1st & 3rd Tuesday Night Cafe partners up with Blacklava and the Little Tokyo Service Center to bring incredible art and great vibes to LA's Little Tokyo.

Please take a listen to Tom Storms " Reluctant Angel" song To all of our friends: A very deep touching story. Our Friend Tom Storms www. myspace. com/tomstormsmusic- recently lost his brother Josh to lung cancer. The irony, if you will, is that Tom wrote a song inspired by my long time manager Sheryl Mandel. Her sad dilemma was she had to remove a beloved pet from a dying man asap and try to find a home for her neighbor's cat named Rico. Rico's owner was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer and turned to Sheryl for immediate help. Sheryl told Tom she felt like a "Reluctant "Angel" having to remove this beautiful cat that has been this man's only companion for 9 years. His entire family were gone and he- alone. It tore Sheryl apart. Tom stepped up and gave her support and then to her surpirise wrote the song "Reluctant Angel" dedicated to her & Rico- then the most shocking news ocurred- Tom was told that his own brother Josh was diagnosed with Lung Cancer. Josh passed away quickly. Tom buried his bother. As you can imagine it took our breath away to know that Tom suddenly was thrust into his own grief. Sheryl and I are so grateful to Tom. Because of his selfless creative gift- Rico was picked up personally by the founder of S.A.V.E .- a no kill animal shelter where Rico is now living in a wonderful Kitty condo as he awaits being re-homed. Now Tom is mourning the sudden loss of his own brother and we want to show our gratitude for all his help. We ask you to support Tom during his time of grief and take a listen to his heart wretching song " Reluctant Angel" and spread the word. Let's make this song known. It's raw deep truth will touch your soul.
All our Best, Robert Axelrod on behalf of Sheryl Mandel & Tom Storms www. myspace. com/tomstormsmusic
I promise these links aren't robot spam. Just to help prove I'm me, my Facebook 25 random facts meme #8: "My ultimate career goal is to effect positive social change. Still figuring out how to do that." Yes, I'm using Causecast to help me figure it out.
