Hakkımızda TUNNELSOUNDS - Sounds of the London Underground
Armed with a 24 hour pass and a recording device, Tube engineer Ben Langham, better known in the music scene as DJ Ben Phaze is sampling his way through tunnels, depots, stations and workshops across the London Underground network capturing the sounds that he, unlike most people, has access to. These sounds are then constructed into musical compositions to create his own soundtrack to the London Underground...
Some of the tracks are enhanced with synths, chopped up beats and turntablism and some feature special guests including Scottish electronica artist Plum (Summer Rain Recordings).
The project is evolving all the time so keep checking back for the latest additions. There will be a free track to download very soon!
Thanks to everyone at London Underground who has helped out and supported the project so far.
Somewhere at an undisclosed location, evil scientists have been developing a serum of broken beats, basslines, Digital visual and spray-can art, so potent it will raise the dead. After what has seemed like an age Graffiti Breakz is proud to present the effects of our serum...
.....We give you Graffiti Breakz – The Resurrection.! Sat 31st Oct ’09 (Halloween)
Graffiti Breakz has gained the reputation of being one of the only events in London to successfully combine Breaks, Hardcore Breaks, Drum and Bass’ Live music and Live Graffiti art all under one roof
Now with a larger venue and longer opening hours we will be adding to the mix Dubstep’ Electro/Dubstep, Live Breaks acts, Full Graff art Instillations, Full Graff Art Galleries, More Giveaways, Brighter Lights, and Louder bass to create a vibe re-born; stronger and more electric than any Graffiti Breakz so far..
All 3 rooms will be in session to their full potential. As you enter the rhythm factory you‘ll be met by the artwork of some of London’s leading artists showcasing at the Graffiti Gallery.
As you pass the gallery instillation, and live 6’x4’ Artwork being created in the front bar you arrive in the main room bursting with Live Acts’ DJ Teams, visual displays and much more.
Drifting further into the East London venue, you will find dirty dubstep, kick driven breaks, and the addictive rumble of dark and dirty bass.
Gracing the stages of the 2 Dance floors we have a line up that includes award winning Djs; Apply The Breaks, pioneering producers; Ctrl-z, inspiring funk soul band; Junkyard scientists, and leading the way in the live breaks scene; Diverted. With Duel Calibre’s tear-out sound belting through the 7k rig there’s be something to wake every corpse

Wooohaaaaa!!! Braindrop is throwing its very first boat party on Saturday 6 June.
The vessel is specially equipped to hold large groups of people (and all the extra bass bins we can squeeze on). Her name is The Dutch Master and she be a mighty fine boat too!
It's going to be a ridiculously fun rinse up. However, if you think you can get away with being remotely serious and/or cool at this party - ye be mistaken. The Braindrop Boat Rave is fancy dress: Pirate's from the 80's. Arrgh...better get thinkin what ye gonna wear.
D&B / DUBSTEP / TECHNO / BREAKS / ELECTRO / HARDCORE / HIP HOP / GABBA / BREAKCORE / PSYTRANCE / RAVE... and lots more!
The boat will leave St.Katharines Pier (London) at 9pm and return at 2am. Tickets are £20 and you can get them from TICKETWEB.
For more info check www.braindrop.co.uk. Arrrrgh me hearties!

the site looks really good mate. Ive been meaning to tell you this for ages there a perfect sample on GZA's liquid swords lp that goes something like "my sounds so deep its picked up on radio recievers in tunnels" great intro maybe? peace . ps hope the THEM set went awesome for you.
very impressed with what i’ve gleaned so far. well done. came across you very suddenly and unexpectedly. anything involving site visits interests me, often being involved with such projects and activity.
as well as the considerable immediate texture and presence to the sounds you gather and transform, theres the associations and meanings to them. all their powers teams up.
curious if you might stage public audio installations / sound works / events actually on london’s underground or elsewhere, maybe even generative or interactive (with the ongoing process and sounds and / or the deliberate or involuntary activation from the turnover).
also, wondering if you’d collaborate on / contribute to projects with others (of whatever practice or discipline) and / or involve others in your own venture.
interestingly enough, i’ve got my own creative own engagement with tfl / london underground. in 2007, 1 of my serial collaborative partners-in-crime, rut blees luxemburg, invited me to write a prose text based on her commission for the piccadilly line centenary. rut chose stations charles holden designed and nearby areas. as often with her, concentrating on overlooked but worthy features –always at night.
the same year, rut’s suite of images was shown at 1 of heathrow’s terminals. (‘piccadilly’s peccadilloes’). i recited my text (with permission) at the launch (or “grand unveiling / public execution”!).
this year, the text got published. its in ‘commonsensual’, the 3rd book of her photos put out by black dog press. the title of this text of mine is, ‘shifted blockage flowing load’.
just noticed a coincidence . another of my recent new friends here = vic godard & the SUBWAY sect!
