“I cannot recommend going to see them enough. These guys are definitely a band you should catch before they make it big” – Tom Rodgers, The Yorker- 27th Oct 07
Sounds Like
“Blimey! Is it really possible that so much authentic-sounding, blues-infused, southern-fried ROCK can rise from the back streets of York? Honestly, your correspondent can't believe how good this sounds - with the raw feel and virtuosity of Free, Bad Company and Steve Miller brought bang up to date a la Supersuckers and Young Heart Attack. A breath of fresh air!”
Fibbers.co.uk – May Listings 2008
Also on the show - The Gilligans, Undergrass & Fado Rock (awesome or what)
Fury only play York a couple of times a year due to touring commitments - The EP launch in February was a capacity crowd. This gig will be BIGGER.
As a thank you to our York supporters - a free copy of 'Lay Down And Take It ' will given to every punter.
The Gilligans are also going to be huge - they are getting rave reviews from whoever is lucky enough to get to their gigs. They recently won BEST OF THE BANDS at the Grand Opera House in York.
Undergrass are one of the hardest working bands I've seen lately. Great sound, superb vocals - blues & rock all rolled into one.
FADO ROCK packed out the Londesborough Arms Hotel in Market Weighton two weeks ago to launch their new EP & were the main band at the Rock Arena @ the Giant Bradley Festival in May.
The gig is being recorded live by Deep Purple / Placebo head sound bloke Ian Nelson - get yourself down and be part of the history.
Anyway, enough from me.
Tickets can be purchased through TICKETWEB or the bands

Apollo 15 & Giddy Equations presents Lady Fortune + Just Handshakes + The Locals + You Are The Proles
In "The Prince", Machiavelli says Lady Fortune only rules one half of a mans fate, the other half being his own will. By the end of the show I'd bet all will. With art-rock and indie-punk bases all covered by this hugely talented band that takes influence from The Strokes via Belle and Sebastian they quickly began support slots with the likes of The Pigeon Detectives, The Young Knives and The Paddingtons.

Apollo 15 presents Mugstar + Celebrity Love Crisis + Thrive + Jono
Sea Record’s Mugstar are the sound of 10,000 suns exploding, pulsing with repetitive beauty, pounding like a supersonic mantra. They set sail for the sun in 2002 and have completed numerous voyages with the likes of Mogwai, Melt Banana, Onieda, Acid Mothers Temple and Part Chimp. The band recorded one of the last sessions for the late great John Peel and featured in his festive 50.
Celebrity Love Crisis have emerged from the ashes of National Grid HVRP to produce progtastic metallic juicy riff filled scientifantastic bon bombs.
