V-DAY NYC 2007 is part of the larger worldwide campaign begun by Eve Ensler in 1998 after her Obie Award-winning play The Vagina Monologues.We put on two benefit productions of this seminal work, as well as a variety of events throughout the 5 boroughs of NYC. We definitely raised a healthy amount of money and hopefully raised awareness to stop violence against women and girls.For 2007, we selected as our beneficiary The Center Against Domestic Violence, an outstanding NYC 501(c)3 organization providing shelter, counseling, training and guidance to women and girls directly effected by acts of physical violence.
At least 10% of our proceeds went to V-Day's 2007 beneficiary: WOMEN IN CONFLICT ZONES .
