| About Vortech |
|
Vortech creates Cybertech/metal for the world's pleasure (or pain). All Vortech's albums are available for free, but there is also an option for interested people to buy the albums as a CD.
The band was formed in early 2000 by Juha Untinen and Tero Konola, originally called Aftershock but soon changed to Sound Ogre. Several demos were released between 2000 and 2004, when Tero left the band. With his departure, the name was changed to Vortech in late 2005.
In summer 2004, work started towards releasing the first EP, Extinct, which was released in late 2004. A second EP, Asphyxiation, was released six months later in 2005. In late 2005 it was time to start working on a first full length release. The full length album Conclusion was released in 2006. A second full length album, Wasteland, was finally released in late 2007 with several guest vocalists appearing on it.
In early 2008 it was again time for a new album, and Deep Beneath was released on 6 March. Kraken made a second appearance in Vortech, doing almost all the vocals on the album. It has been downloaded almost 500 times in full since the release.
For late 2008 / early 2009 there are plans to play a handful of gigs around northern Finland and Sweden, if everything goes well. A new full length album is also in the works. Full-on work for it will begin in June.
