Hi and thanks for stopping by my site. I’m a singer-songwriter-composer, as well as a television director-producer-writer. More information about the TV-production side of my career can be found at my website: www.waynegrajeda.com.
I appreciate songs with strong melodies, intelligent, thought provoking lyrics and interesting harmonic structures. Rhythm is great, too, but for me melody and harmony can't be sacrificed for a groove. Anyway, that’s how I try to write. I was previously signed to Warner Bros. Records. I spent many years playing the Los Angeles and British music scenes and have been in and out of Europe for many years, too. Now I’m in Berlin, Germany where I gig solo, with a couple of duos and with my five-piece band. It’s great. Each situation lets me express myself in a different way.
There is a very long list of artists who have influenced me. It’s fruitless to try to list them but the Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Steely Dan, Nik Kershaw (to my mind very underrated), Don Henley, Sting and Tears For Fears are among my favorite pop artists. As a kid I thrived on Black music but today I listen to as much orchestral, instrumental and jazz styles as I do anything else. I like the possibilities technology has provided songwriters like myself and appreciate session level players, a sacrilege in some quarters but I stand guilty as charged.
I try to stay on top of what’s popular at the moment but find I spend less and less time listening to radio rock, pop and folk. I’m more interested in music played by people I know or have met. Right now Ramesh Weeratunga, Robert Williams, John Vaughan, Michael Friedman, Bright Blue Gorilla and Paul Fogerty are among them. My last CD is called Chameleon and is available on Bluebird-Café Berlin Records or at CD Baby. Having said all that, half the time I don’t listen to music at all, rather the news. I’m a news junky.
If you’d like to get to learn more about me, please visit my website (www.waynegrajeda.com) There’s much more information there. Again, thanks very much for stopping by.

Walpurgisnacht: "Bonfires were built to keep away the dead and chaotic spirits that were said to walk among the living then." So it seems to be ok to have a sideman sometimes...
Hallo Wayne, alles ok? Wir haben drei frische Songs im Angebot: Das Demo ist live-eingespielt und daher so schön schnörkellos. So klingen wir jetzt. Viel Spaß beim Reinhören! Und: viele Grüße Uli
Hey Wayne. Great to hear from you. Steve was just asking me the other day when you were due back. I told him you had sold up and moved to Fresno where you had started up "Grajeda-netics", and were working on some science fiction novels. Look how wrong I was. And I thought I knew you. You've really changed, dude. Look forward to catching up. On a serious note, I got into a festival in Switzerland, and some love-song show at the Sony Centre in Potsdamer Platz as well. Plus, I've been doing some songs live to video and posting them on youtube and myspace. I've done eight so far, I think. Cheers, looking forward.
Howdy Wayne, we are back in Berlin! Will we see you at Babylon on Saturday? Karate Film Cafe starts at 20:00 and it's almost sold out so please make your reservations now. Will you go to Cinestar on Friday night? Maybe we can meet there!
