Welcome to our MySpace! We are James and Clara, the independent filmmakers behind the Australian dance documentary, Welcome to Wonderland. We thought this would be a great place to help promote our film and also meet like-minded people who are passionate about life, music, dance and the pursuit of dreams.
Welcome to Wonderland has been an incredible, but difficult six-year journey for us. Our vision was to take the viewer on an incredible journey that unveils the beauty, power and intrigue created when music, the natural environment and people combine. We love the fact that the simple act of dancing can create such a magical uplifting emotion, and believe we have captured this in Welcome to Wonderland.
It is our hope that people are touched by the power of the music and images, and feel the urge to have a good stomp, even if it’s just in their own lounge room. We would truly appreciate your support and hope you enjoy our Wonderland!
As the sky darkens, a sound pulses through outback Australia; it is primal, it is irresistible and it is calling. In clouds of dust, feet pound the earth with rhythmic intensity as vibrations from speaker stacks stir raw energy. As the sun rises and morning shadows emerge, thousands embrace the new day united by one motive: to celebrate life through music and dance - Welcome to Wonderland.
Come on an adventure with six colourful characters as we explore Australia's vibrant outdoor dance culture and experience the music, sights and sounds that make it unique. Welcome to Wonderland is a powerful and upbeat insight into a generation of musicians, artists, bush philosophers and everyday pilgrims who gather to dance.
