WHY NOT is a rock band created by Mano Smargiannaki (lead vocals, acoustic guitar, lyrics & music composer) and Manoli Liakaki (vocals, acoustic and electric guitar, music composer) in the winter of 2005. From late 2008 there are some new members added in the band: Elena Raptaki (lead vocals, acoustic guitar), Giannis Marnelakis (drums), Kostas Marnelakis (bass) and Nikos Haralampidis (bass).
The time that passed was full of live appearances of their own but also in collaboration with other groups (CLOSER, MATISSE, GAD and RAINING PLEASURE) in the city of Heraklion and in other parts of the island. From their first live people embraced them with enthusiasm filling stiflingly the places that the band was presented. The program that they present is an alloy of pieces of classic rock scene, with lots pop influences, executed with their own personal unplugged style.
Through the last two and a half year they work on their own material in pop-rock and blues style. The most recent results of their work are the recently recorded tracks "Let Me Go Now", "So Charming", "Time To Go" and "Broke An Angel's Heart". They also have in their asset the recorded tracks “Meet You In Heaven”, “Do You See What I See”, “Lady Love” and “Spend Sometime With Me” as well as the tracks “Made Of Thoughts”, “How Tough It Could Be”, “Lady Baby”, “Never Run From Me”, “Fool Man' s Letter”, “Blues Time Hour”, "Flame Boy" and "Me And The Mirror" which aren't recorded yet but are going to be really soon and are also included in the program of their live appearances.
All recorded tracks were made with the most valuable help of Manos Terzakis in programming, mixing and mastering.
With the songs “Peta me Psila” and “Ena Blemma Zesto”, the only of their creations with Greek lyrics, they participated in 2007's Greek Song Festival of Thessalonica.
The latest by SX-01 is a techno-trance gem with SX’s trademark hypnotic synth sounds and amazing house drums. Francisco Pieras has a unique, eclectic sound, which has been described as "deep-futuristic-techno-house" and it's this sound that is shaking dance floors.
