Olivier Caron and Alexis Garsault met in 2001. Realizing they shared the same interest not only for heavy-metal but for all genres of music, they decided to create their own band. Wildpath was born.
With a line-up in place, they played a few venues in the Paris area and recorded their first demo. « Necromancer » attracted the attention of Willdric Lievin (Fairyland, Hamka), who offered his services to cut the first record, Nyx Secrets, at Arkham Asylum Studio. Dreamaker vocalist Elisa C. Martin was kind enough to be a guest singer on one of the numbers.
Nyx Secrets was released in Asia in 2006 by Japanese record company Staygold. Thanks to the label’s efforts, the album entered HMV’s Top 50 chart. It is now available online (Itunes, Virgin…) through digital distribution label Believe.
Over the years, the band’s line-up evolved. Some members decided to pursue solo careers, or venture into different directions, others stepped aside but remain part of the Wildpath family.
In 2007, in order to celebrate the opening of their very own studio, the band recorded a newer version of Necromancer, their original single, for the compilation CD « Tales from Different Worlds ». They also composed an instrumental piece to open this album, released by Heavylaw.
It is at their studio that the members of Wildpath - Marjolaine Bernard (vocals), Matthias Bouyssou (guitars), Olivier Caron (guitars), Nicolas Lopes (bass), Alexis Garsault (keyboards) and Pierre Mahier (drums) – have produced and recorded « Non Omnis Moriar », their second album.
They are actively looking for stages to storm and distributors to amaze. They are willing to provide the wildest musical experience to anyone who will cross their path…
A bientôt Laurent
Bonjour and thanks for the add. In addition of the female voice, I also like the background vocals and the touch of symphony in the music. Keep it up. Greetings from Canada.
Heureux de vous accueillir chez nous, et bon vent à vos aventures sonores! Sans oublier mes amitiés à Jean-Marc, qui nous relie (de si belle façon) avant peut-être une vraie rencontre.
The french power metal band Winterland is now called SILENT FALL!!!
This may certainly surprise a lot of you, but you have to reckon that this decision was hard to take because we are using this name since 2005. In fact, another Winterland, coming from Germany, exists, and has already released two albums. This band owns the rights on the name, and that's why we can't continue to use it. In brief, our music will stay the same and we'll continue to play the songs that you already know, but when the album is released, you have to look for us at the S letter instead of the W letter ^^
As you probably know, the band will soon come up to the Wildpath Studio (http://www.wildpath-studio.com) to record its first album.
This recording goes hand in hand with the arrival of a new guitar player, Pierre Cabannes.
Here is the line-up of Silent Fall during the recording:
The album's name will be Otherwise and will include about ten tracks along with Kill For Life, I wish, World of Secrets and Forever and Ever. This album will be kind of traditional speed melodic metal, blended with some progressive and death melodic parts. Don't expect to find as before the tracks that you already know. They have all been revisited to give a unity to this album. Furthermore, three guests may appear on this album. We can't announce their names at the moment, but there should be a female singer, a keyboard player and a guitar player.
We'll give you more news as soon as possible. At the moment, just know that we'll be back on the road at the end of the year and that we'll try to release the album at the same time. Finally, a new website will appear soon.
Until then, feel free to come to our new Myspace profile and to leave
je viens faire mon petit tour habituel ,pour voir les nouvelles , je vous souhaite à tous un exellent week-end , continuer à nous arroser de melodies et de decibels .
