Band MembersLIZZY PIFFANY / SAM HUNT - Core facilitators of Wrote Under. The women at the top. It is them who organise us all together and come up with or shout down the ideas. Here's a clip of them at work - this will change within the weeks to come - from the forthcoming movie...

LOUISE STOKES - Louise Stokes, actor, novelist, poet, short story writer, playwright, recently turned character comedian, prefers to deliver her humour hidden behind tons of bizarre make up, costume and characterisation. She is also the author of WU's second book, 'Nine' - a collection of short stories. She performs a whole family of larger than life, but unnervingly recognisable characters, the most popular of whom is KIMMY SUE ANNE, her chav comedy poet who performs regularly (some would say constantly) in Birmingham and the Midlands, as well as making forays further out to London, Glastonbury, the Forest of Dean, Hereford, Derby, Liverpool, and the Edinburgh Fringe. Here's a clip, courtesy of Mighty Frog Films (www.youtube.com/mightyfrogfilms) of her character Nicola Goff...

BRENDAN HIGGINS - The Bard of Birmingham who is WU's most familiar, friendly and f**king furious face. A lot of people know this man. He is your first point of contact at the Sunday Xpress, before slipping away to do more of the same at a venue in Balsall Heath. Here's a clip of his poem 'Bigots Prayer' filmed by Qwoonsweird at the Old Moseley Arms in Balsall Heath - please go to www.youtube.com/qwoonsweird for many more clips of Brum's underground acoustic genius talent. Well worth the visit.

JAMES JIM KENNEDY - Multi-instrumental non-musician, brings words and experiments to the stage and the page. Your first point of contact here. Goes under lots of different psuedonyms - has performed as Jimmy Fantastik for the written word and The New Jerusalem for sound, 2009 is going to prove a further challenge but he'll be fine. Film clip is from Pleased as Punch's 'The World According to Jimmy Fantastik' (2008) (www.pleasedaspunch.net)

LOUIS CAMPBELL - Words are his power with breathtaking delivery. 2009 is set to be a great year for the great man. Taken from his DVD 'Poetry & Motion' (available on request) please enjoy the above animation of his poem 'Brother Killing Brother,' written and produced by the bloke himself...

DORM - 59 - Father of Wrote Under's child Rosie Woolf with Sam Hunt - DORM is the oracle and the seer of the group. When he comes out of hibernation he embodies the spirit of what we stand for, the rest of the year he sleeps and watches Monk. A cover of Motorhead's 'serial killer' taken from the vaults - Sunday Xpress at the Market Tavern 2007. One from the vaults!x (play loud) ps excuse the watermark.
