   X's Blurbs
About me:
X PARTY - X PEOPLE - Self X-pression - Revolution means turning round. X marks the spot. - First there was the party (23-Nov-006) then the r(E)volution. Now it's in full swing...

Banking. The New Theft so steal a Bank(sy) Holiday Tuesday in August!

REMEMBER FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY? Lots of friends, linked to this myspace, still live like that. X Party = hope and positivity
Positivity & peace declared in London's South East X over May Bank Holiday Weekend 007... Art Power exploded in London's South East X... but it's still not enough

Politicians are bad for the world

Teenagers killing themselves and each other

Mass media incitement to hate propoganda unchallenged

Fantasy accomodation prices when shelter is a basic human right while rich poor divide aggrevated by greedy developers and "luxury" investments

Clean water and clean air disappear as the living planet's lungs are chopped down and deserts created

Humans, their own greatest predators right now, at a self-extinction peak. Starving to death. Over eating to death.

The over repulsive gluttony of Finance creating the downfall of everybody else

Nazis in London City Hall, and the irony of racism in that (1) what other race is there than the human race? and (2) racists come in all nationalities and skin tones. THE APATHY OF 21ST CENTURY TO THE COMING CIVIL WAR BEING SET UP BY THE ABOVE

X Party is The Common Party. Common is not a "class". Common as in common vision, common decency, common good, common sense. On our block people don't seem to be of any particular faith or political leaning, but like the conversations on public transport, pretty much in agreement about the state of the world. Sadly they don't represent real people in parliament. We need real leaders.

OK. Gigs and parties. How the hell does that do anything for the future?

... by bringing people together to make friends, exchange ideas, accept differences and move on. When we smile there is hope for the future. Who would YOU trust more? A politician or a musician? ART IS POWER.

In South East London (apparently and allegedly a shit hole in the middle of nowhere with real life dragons) what people got but to have good times? Highly over populated already, it's treasure is the every day community, rich in creative talent. Having made the area (especially borough of Lewisham, next to tourist centre of Greenwich) cool, it was ripe for potential to kick real people out to make room for posh people to be near a river, Greenwich/Blackheath views etc and feel they were in a vibrant arty community. Only where are the highly affordable dwellings which put locals first? Why is the nearest station mentioned on the estate agent maps Greenwich rather than Deptford? Why do they take their business to Greenwich rather than the family businesses of the high street?

As sirens soundtrack the blue light district of town, so birdsong soothes it. The trees are our friends.
Who I'd like to meet:
FELLOW REVELLERS WHO WANT A GOOD NIGHT OUT
bring/make some art/friends?

Great bands come from here... Great bands come to here... Great things go on here... CA guide to London's most playful quarter is growing at the ROCKLANDS, SOUTH EAST X page. The first soundtrack of this tale is a download compilation ONCE UPON ANOTHER TIME - in true punk situationist style, the story of the artistes has already grown...

X PARTY IS IN FULL SWING

JUN 008 = X-ternal? This page was last updated a year ago (Jun 007). In that twelve months the world is a different place and ready for X-Party. It can only exist though, if more than one other person feels the same...
It CAN work though, having fun to create a future. Artful's dream of uniting venues, creative businesses, talent and every day folk is becoming reality since the Rocklands Party of May 007. Art power has increased with New Cross Gallery opening, Amersham Arms revamping and Kate&Tristan joining the alternative experience around Deptford Town Hall. In honour of Rocklands patron saint, Pirate Paul, (pre commemorated by the peace candle at St Paul's on Deptford High Street) we owe it to ourselves to always FIGHT THE POWERS THAT BE.

Time Zone motto? YOU CAN'T KILL THE SPIRIT.

JUN 007 = X-actly!

MAY 007 = X-tra Terrestial - (Friday) MAY THE 4TH BE WITH YOU kicked off the maddest weekend in rock n roll history - all over the borough of Lewishambles - thank you to Open Mouth, Fight Like Apes, White Man Kamikaze and The Heartbreakers DJs... APR 007 = X-HILARATING - welcome KALEV + SUPER NASHWAN + DEXY + DEATHSTAR PREVIEW to the stage of New Cross Inn and CHRIS MUGAN to the decks! MAR 007 = X-CEPTIONAL - Peace broke out when BLAH BLAH BLAH + THE ROCKS + SEEING SCARLET + THE BERLIN GIRLS + DEXY + THE BLUE LIGHT DISTRICT + 13:53 MAGAZINE + DEPTFORD TV + DIRTY SOUNDS + CODE RED + DIGITAL SNEAKERS + EARWAX RADIO + SHARING SHEATHS + MAD STARING EYES and their friends got together at The Albany on a Saturday night...

FEB 007 = THE X FACTORY - hats off to FORMS FORMS FORMS who returned to their spiritual home + THE SEQUINS (punkily fabulous), THE MANDRAKES + THE STANDARDS with ANGRY CANDY on the decks and an adventure with some laughing gas balloons

JAN 007 = GREAT X-PECTATIONS start of the year knees up with The Readymades, Nebraska, The High Times, Open Mouth on stage, Heidi Heelz (and a guest appearance by Rich Pack!) on the decks and loadsa playing class like Shot By Both Sides, Fred Tectonic, Mac 3000, The Blue Light District, various members of William, Public Enterprise, Chet and friends in the house. Happy All Year!

DEC 006 = X-MASS - 8 Day weekend - thank you Making Eyes at Elvis & Korova - hear them interviewed at the January Earwax Radio Jan 007 podcast and check out the photos by Satoko Owada. once upon another time, in a galaxy far, far away (aka borough of lewisham)...

BEFORE THE REVOLUTION...THE PARTY NOV 006
LITTLE NAN JOJO loves X PARTY at New Cross Inn, and all over London's South East Bank...

The revamped NX Inn launched as an art rock installation at this year's DEPFORD X (the annual contemporary art festival)
Thank you to all the BANDS / DJS / ART / FILM / PIRATES DECOR / FAIRIES and all their friends that created the virtual piss up in an art school vibed brewery cum surreal house party! The report is on line "There's a congregation of creatives lighting up the darkness of south-east London, with musicians, filmmakers, comedians and artists coming together to conjure a modern-day Haight-Ashbury". more from TIME OUT.
