Xenon Codex are based in High Wycombe and Brighton, England. In case you're wondering, the name is lifted from the 1988 Hawkwind album 'The Xenon Codex' a name and a band that we like, and it kind of represents the music make. We like to play uplifting, soulful, heavy space rock, with strong elements of dub, post-rock and psychedelic soundscapes thrown in. We like nothing more than to just turn up to a gig, crank the amps to 11 and get the audience off. We are: Greg Singh (also of atomic lemon project), Duncan Harrison and Sam Luck (Psyche Out Musikland Bigband), Justin Beamish (In Audio Out) Mike Neaves (Psyche Out and Pump Shark). We are also ocassionally joined on stage by Dave H-S and Dan Mackenzie, who add atmospherics of one kind or another to our live sound. 3 live tracks on this profile are taken directly from our show at the Carling Academy, Islington on 17th May 2007, which was an entirely improvised instrumental performance. Another 2 tracks are taken from rehearsal sessions for our forthcoming debut studio album, 'Adventures in Coffee'. The remaining tracks are brand-new bootlegs from our show at Alternator, 2nd April 2009. We also plan to release a DVD of our first ever show at the White Horse, High Wycombe Christmas 2006 and a live video for 'Theme'.
