TAKE CONTROL split EP CD
4 songs from Yatagarasu followed by 4 songs from Bubblegum Octopus. BGO and Yata pursue 2 unrelentingly esoteric styles of spastic anti-tronica. Tracks 1-4 offer crushing but unapolagetically vulnerable and weird nintendo hardcore/grind/pop with vocals screamed through clenched teeth. Konami's rarely used VRC6 sound chip is routed out into enough distortion to level a building, while the standard NES sounds do their best to hold everything together - themselves destructing as nessesary. 1 NES attempts to harness youthful energies accumulated from years of gaming and redirect them towards torching Xbox/wii/ps3 stagnation.
Tracks 5-8 are hyper and paranoid tunes fusing fast 80s R&B, DDR-style jpop, and leg-sweeping IDM. A striking vocal style carries these tracks like few can. Pitch perfect falsetto segues into multi-part harmonies and some even weirder styles with ease with no pitchshifting or autotuning effects. One of the true scions of otaku/akiba/squenix protoculture, informed and surgically irreverent. Introspective spazzpop jams that function like an IV of sucrose.
PROTOPLASM CD
12 tracks of spastic, low-res drum programming, chirpy NES sounds and bass crunch. Definitely the clearest picture of Yatagarasu as a chipcore/NES unit. Songs that are freaked out, sprawling and dynamic but tightly- channeled and tactical in execution.
Silkscreened cover and cdr. Corelease with Earth Shaking Rhythms and Sketchlife recordings.
LOBSTER MAGE CD
10 tracks of gravity blast post-hardcore created with Nintendo, synth and drum machine. Brutal noise parts and 909 abuse slides back and forth into epic melodies and bug-eyed screaming.
3 color Silkscreened cover, pressed cdr. Running low on copies.
EPROM ep - 5 tracks made using custom programmed NES cartridges. Noisey and screechy, the party is ruined. (Physical copies gone for good, download available soon!)
Hexcrusher s/t - I'm out of copies, go to www.myspace.com/instincto to buy
7 tracks of anthemic, pulverizing para-military VG Music/pop with heavy noisecore undercurrents.
Shutting Up ep cdr
The first release by the band I play bass in, Shutting Up.
2 color, double sided screenprinted covers and rubber-stamped cds. 7 songs of jank noisepunk that goes from raw, wanky scramble to grimacing, smooth tech-thrash. Subject matter ranges from abusive relationships, to vegetarian visits to Sonic, to Buttsnake. This is no joke man.
Yata CONTROLLER cdr
Yatagarasu combines blasting drum machine, blippy nintendo sounds and distorted bass-shredding. If you are thinking this might be a fun little jaunt into childhood gaming memories, please reconsider. This is pain and frustration, crushing loneliness, despair and failure crammed into the 8-bit registers of the well-known grey device. We've all seen our joys and dreams hacked to meat by the demands of adulthood and life. Yatagarasu is that meat becoming human again - learning to stand again - trying to refashion old memories into a new purpose. Not wasting or forgetting what you were, but not letting it hold you back or determine your future. 7 tracks of ruined dreams becoming something worth having. Packaged with large, 2-color controller blockprint. Put it on your dresser!
Yata/Carpet Violence split cdr
Yata does 11 tracks of electroshock slash-up in 4.5 minutes. Carpets do 7 slightly longer tracks of noisey, damaged hardcore. A cult cdr of impossible changes, terrified shrieks, inadvisable distortion and dark irony.
Amassed cdr
This should be out by the end of summer - it will contain all the Yatagarasu tracks recorded from 2004-2007. This includes the Controller ep, Demo Time ep, the Split with Carpet Violence, early demo tracks, some pre-yata and parallel projects, as well as several live sets collected on cdr. In total about an hour of furious, passionate 8bit influenced drum-machine/bass guitar grind.

hahaha yeah, someone said hes apparently slightly mental. not a surprise. i just checked out your one side project and noticed the track sampling "ooh mamma." love it. too bad you didnt mention that one to kade, cause me and him are the 2 biggest t and e fans in town, i think he wouldve shit himself. sorry i couldnt stick around any longer, i just hadnt ate in almost 2 days and started getting really bad hunger pains hahaha. so when i saw a ride, i took it, and cooked up whatever i could. ive heard nothing but good things from everyone i know who was there though, everyone loved your set and thought you were cool as fuck. so youre definately welcome out here anytime. next time you got a show around here (like austin or sa), let me, kade, or anyone else you have contact info of know, we'll find you a spot to play at. and obviously thanks for contributing some fist-mic vocals to my set.
hit me up today or early tomorrow if you can, just so i can make sure you know how to get here and stuff. check your messages, i sent you the addy and other info. i dont think i can make it out to austin, but, where are you playing tonight?
I definitly wanted to do a solo and small group kinda experimental / avant kind of event sometime soon. It would be totally awesome if we could get a couple artists together and do an event together. Know any other cool places to play at?
