Zalvarinis – it’s a band of four young musicians (drums, bass guitar, acoustic, electric guitars) and three singers. Various interpretations of ancient Lithuanian folk songs, which are performed, sound new and unusual. It unites different styles of music: from light rock till metal with blues, jazz elements.
Zalvarinis rounded up in 2001, summer. At the same time they have started recording and producing the CD (Zalvarinis CD, Bomba records). After this, of course, followed more conserts, festivals as: international festivals of modern music “Suklegos” (2002, 2004 Lithuania), “Regioo” (2003 Estonia), international neo-folk festival “Menuo juodaragis” (2001, 2002, 2003, 2007 Lithuania), “Baltijas saule” (2002, 2003 Latvia). Zalvarinis was invited to take place in a film about Lithuania for tourists, which was made by Austrian film-studio in 2002. Also the band won the nomination as a “Discovery of a year 2004” in the National Lithuanian television.
The second album “Zalio vario” appeared in 2005, summer (digipack, Prior rec, BOD) and now they are currently representing their new release - FOLK N'ROCK(Monaco production, 2008).
The main intention of this band is to revitalize vanishing ancient Lithuanian folk songs and to produce them for the listeners in a modern and attractive way.

Priviet, Zalvarinis !!! Really good music, good mix between folk and rock !!! Not as brutal as folk metal from Skyforger or Arkona, but maybe as good and melancholic... I'd like to discover more from you !!! All the best !!! ________

Music of Zalvarinis is just like Jantar that it precious mineral of Baltic Sea in the same way Zalvarinis is precious gem of Lithuanian and even more all Baltic People! Slava! truly meisterwerk that strikes straight in the heart of Youth (and not only;)) with power of old traditions in convenient modern style enriched by most true folk ( or maybe it is other way around? most true folk enriched by modern elements? hehe).
