It was late 2006 when the mysterious Zodiac Cartel burst onto the scene, with the shredding ‘Devil’s Music’ on Lot49, and the massive selling remix of Elite Force’s ‘Used & Abused’ on U&A Recordings. Both tracks sold in large quantities and immediately installed the Cartel as one of the ‘go-to’ producers in his field, with supporters such as James Zabiela, Crookers, Kissy Sellout & Sasha amongst the many A-listers supporting his prodigious career to date.
Whilst some have him pegged as a ‘fidget’ producer, there’s a lot more depth on offer in his productions, and a broad & diverse range of remixes this year has served to showcase his virtuoso production skills. Remixes have ranged from the deep & druggy (remixes such as Butter Party – Wriggle (Dark & Deep Mix), Harvey Mackay – Reflex) to the peaktime & anthemic (Fukk Off – Rave is King / Rennie Pilgrem – Drumma) to the wonky (Elite Force – Jack The Joint / Sawtooth Suckas – Ordinary Girl). After a year of outstanding remix production work, he dropped the ravishing single, ‘Klappyn / Robots’ on U&A to great commercial and journalistic acclaim.
The Cartel began 2009 with a serious spell of studio time, during which he secured two further single releases, with the aggro-latino-street-sounds of future anthem, ‘We Don’t Play That’ (U&A Recordings) and the peaktime raveathon, ‘Beyond The Dancefloor’ (Lee Mortimer’s Wearhouse Music). Both enjoyed long runs in the upper echelons of the Beatport charts, alongside a series of peerless remixes for the likes of Calvertron, Death Kit, The Subs, DJ Dan, Jesse Brooks and Rene Van Munster.
As if that wasn’t enough, ZC has also found time to launch the ‘Weapons of Choice’ series, a series of FREE downloads of remixes undertaken by the maestro, beginning with his amazing re-construction of the Franz Ferdinand single ‘No You Girls’, which was featured and lauded on no fewer than 40 blogs. The second release in the series was a complete deconstruction of Santigold’s ‘L.E.S. Artistes’, and with a further 4 ‘Weapons of Choice’ set to appear over the coming months, world domination is just around the corner!
1. Beyond The Dancefloor
2. Beyond The Dancefloor (Bill Eff Remix)
3. Beyond The Dancefloor (RAYFLASH Remix)
4. Vudu
20 releases deep and still getting stronger by the month, Wearhouse Music is proud to release this amazing EP from the excellent Zodiac Cartel (just who is behind this slick production outfit?) Big crunchy beats, clippy house snaps and deep rave references are all present and correct in this excellent EP.
4 tracks; 2 original, 2 remixes all giving you a perfect snapshot of how the weekend should be sound tracked. Beyond The Dancefloor in its original and both superb Bill Eff & Japan's finest RAYFLASH mixes are on point and guaranteed to kick the bass bins to pieces. Vudu is a choppy number with sliced vocal stabs that groove this track right out. Slightly dark but builds, this is a future 6am anthem for sure!

"Beyond moves the dancefloor moves the best " STEREO MC'S
"Nice bouncy fun for the dancefloor, liking Vudu too, thanks" Hananah Holland
"Delighted to wake up this morning and find that Zodiac Cartel will be hosting the second in his Weapons of Choice series as an exclusive with Noise Porn. These are a set of six 320kbps remixes which he’s giving away across the blogs, and the trend from first episode to second is promising!
Last time round, he took on Franz Ferdinand (check out the tune below), but this time it’s Santigold with L.E.S. Artistes. It’s been transformed into a cooler-than-cool track which pays homage to the laidback nature of the original but still has a rasping buzziness to it which keeps it dark and controlled. Certain dancefloor destroyer!" Noize Porn

Your music is sick man. Your remix of "Rave Is King" is probably my most favorite, but I continually find myself also dropping your other tracks in my set because they rock!
Just heard your new mixtape. It was just sick. Killer re-edits, but Sweet Control is ace!!!!! is this getting released anytime soon? Keep it up ZC. Much Love
