Zombie Proof is a Cleveland recording studio catering to NE Ohio bands who want to make proper analog recordings for a relatively small amount of money. Bands are recorded as live as possible for a few reasons:
1. Music is created and (hopefully) will be created in this manner until the sun winks out and snuffs humanity forever.
2. It's faster and cheaper that way.
3. It sounds better. Really. I've been recording music since 1994 and it's been proven, at least to me, over and over again that the end result is closer to the original intent and soul of the music if it's recorded as live as possible. I do not have digital editing capabilities. If you can play it or sing it, I can record it and it will sound good, if it's good.
I only book on the weekend. The rates and times are as follows:
Friday- roughly 6pm to midnight. $100
Saturday- 1pm to 2am. $200
Sunday- 11am to midnight. $200
Each reel of tape (1/2" 16 track) holds 32 minutes of music and costs $80.
Here are some of the bands that I've recorded over the last 5 years off the top of my head: This Moment in Black History, Machine Go Boom, Roue', Homostupids, Lo-Pan, Short Rabbits, Dimeras, Darvocets, Self-Destruct Button, Lives of the Saints, Kong Sauce, Chief Bromide, No Peace, We March, Sun God, Mu-Amin Collective, Black Tyger, R.A. Washington, Boatzz, Inmates, Neil Blender, Scarcity of Taco Merrit, etc...
