| About Blank Space |
Blank Space aka J.Alex Murray is an independent artist who has been workin his craft since 2000. He is known across Canada as a talented lyricist, spoken word artist and beatboxer, as well as a co-founder to the independent distribution netwok the National Microphone Association (NMA).
Blank Space holds the title, Halifax's 2006 DJ Olympics Beat Boxing champion, is one of the five members of the Beat Boxing Pirates as well as one fifth of the 2005 Victoria Slam Poetry Team. More recently Alex has toured Canada as one third of The Outspoken Wordsmiths and as half of The Soapbox Poets giving him the experience of over 100 shows and a dedicated fan base in 11 Canadian cities.Though Alex is rooted just outside of Halifax, Nova Scotia (by his studio space & family) he lives in Victoria, BC and still performs all over the Canada on a regular basis. By self-managing & organizing tours/events on his own, and with the help of others Alex sustains his life through his creative expressions.
