interesting facts about me:
i love painting my nails almost as much as i love picking the paint off.
i grew up in miami (as in north cuba). i was brought up listening to the music of bell biv devoe, abc, kriss kross, gypsy kings and new kids on the block. i know, i know, it's no surprise my songwriting is so advanced.
i've secretly always wanted to be the kind of person that can walk into a gym with nothing to distract them from the pain they're about to endure. i usually have about 5 things with me. and i lug them around with me from machine to machine. and most of the time i still get bored.
my voice has come through the tv screen a bit....on shows like men in trees, grey's anatomy (with the rescues), ghost whisperer, one tree hill, dirt, studio 60, lifetime movies, guiding light (not kidding), and movies like eulogy and the deal (with christian slater- i give you permission to only watch up until my song plays and then throw the dvd out the window).
i love to tour. i love my honda fit. i've been doing it for a while now, and i've gotten to play with some pretty fantastic people like jonatha brooke, the weepies, kristen hall, jeff buckley (not kidding- i was 19 and totally unappreciative, i kick myself in the ass constantly for that), bonnie raitt, jackson browne (he's kind of totally still hot), michelle malone, melissa ferrick, tegan and sara, girlyman (3 of my favorite people in the world), kay hanley (also totally hot), peter mulvey, lori mckenna, matt nathanson, tracy bohnam and colin hay (from that band men at work! he rules).
i currently have no furniture. but my ex's have more than they can handle somehow.
i love to write songs, especially when they're not directly about me and my life. i'm an observer, and i like it when my songs reflect that.
i've never been camping. it scares me more than being in a dark alley during a rap video taping.
i secretly want to rap, like my little cousin mike (garcia). he's really good. lives in miami. often frequents dark alleys. but is impossible to be scared of.
oh! my last name is gonzalez. i only use my first name because 6 syllables is just way too much on the ears.
when i was in college i had a band called syren, then another called noah's destiny. mortifying i know. noah was the bass player and destiny was the title to one of my songs. i have no idea what happened to noah. i do remember him being very canadian and possibly the whitest skinned dude i'd ever seen up to that point in my life. in miami even the white people look hispanic and talk with a spanish accent.
my last 2 albums i recorded and produced myself. so far that's been the biggest challenge of my life! and i love it.
people say my voice sounds honest. that's the best compliment i could ever get.
my newest record somehow turned out to be the most honest work i've ever done. didn't intend for it to be that necessarily. i was bored and wanted to record something. and then the truth came out. (-:

Nancy and I are so excited to have the opportunity to be able to tour the United States with Hersband and wife for the Marriage equity tour..

NOTHING These Current & New Artists Is Doing Is New & Don't Be Fooled By These Major Labels Who Only Put Out One Decent Song For Radio Air Play From An Artist's Album & Then When You Go To Buy The Album Anywhere Between $15 To $21 Dollars There's Only 3 Decent Songs Worth Listening To If Even That. Don't Think So, Just Listen Very Carefully To What's Out Now & You'll See What Im Talkin About...
