Sounds Like
Analog waveforms in flight. Against the silhouette of an erupting mercury volcano. With lots of generic circuitry and retro-futuristic anachronisms.
Analog Jetpack is a three-piece indie-rock innovation that makes music fly. Assembled in the District of Columbia in 2005, the band features Rob Getzschman on guitar and vocals, Dan Ryan on bass, and Robby Sahm on drums. The band's depth of experience includes Getzschman's five solo albums, Ryan's formal jazz and classical training, and Sahm's years playing live drum and bass with the Bam Sequence. Currently Getzschman is also promoting a new solo album, while Ryan and Sahm provide the grooves for DC's Le Loup.
Analog Jetpack's debut And How They Flew will be released officially on November 27th in a limited-edition floppy disk packaging. Produced by Jerome Maffeo of Right On Recording in Baltimore, the album features Matt Jones of Jimmie's Chicken Shack and Spencer Chakedis of Deep Sound Diver, trading licks on lead guitars.
DJ Crucial and Jonathan Toth from Hoth have been skateboarding together and listening to Hip Hop since 1994 in St. Louis... it's only natural... ALBUM [on cd] AVAILABLE Tuesday, August 25, 2009
Thanks for the tone mentionings. If you played with them last year, I was playing bass then. The band is a bit different now and rules in new more rocking ways. Your newer sound is likewise a cool one too.
well, it's not grapes rolling on a subway floor, nor was I born yesterday, or even a century late.... but ROCK ON!
It will grow on me I am sure. I didn't like Dark side of the Moon, or even Coldplay's latest album when I first heard them... so I am guessing this will be right up there with the epic albums. !!
Hey Rob. How are you? Good to hear from you. I like the tunes my friend. I'll definitely check out the record. I heard you are in LA now. If you are, I'm playing tonight at Molly Malone's on Fairfax. We go on at 9:30. Would love to see you...
Hey Analog Jetpack, I hope you enjoyed the tunes I have posted! If you get a chance, please let me know what you think. Thanks for everything, and enjoy the rest of the weekend! ~ Blaine
