“As played by the Brooklyn band Antibalas, standing in for the army of musicians that accompanied Mr. Kuti on his world tours, this is music that gets into your bloodstream, setting off vibrations you’ll live with for days to come.” - The New York Times
“What really makes the show work is the music, fabulously delivered by Antibalas, a Brooklyn-based band that re-creates Fela's own songs (the international hit "Zombie" among them), adding some glorious embellishments along the way. Fela's lyrics, projected against the theater walls, make it easier to appreciate their social commentary.” - The New York Post
"the spirited onstage band Antibalas, featuring percussion and horns, propels the show through highlights of Kuti's action-packed life.” - The Associated Press -----------------------------

"They lead the pack..." Pitchforkmedia.com
Antibalas has been a fixture at the crossroads of international music since their humble Brooklyn beginnings in 1998. As a group entity, they are largely responsible for reviving and innovating an obscure but dynamic style of music known as Afrobeat, tirelessly spreading its gospel to over thirty countries around the world, from New York's Rikers Island prison to Carnegie Hall, from Tokyo to Turkey.
Always looking to push their unique sound further, however, Antibalas entered the studio to record their fourth album with much-heralded musician/producer John McEntire (Tortoise, Stereolab, Tom Ze). Holed up for a month in McEntire’s Chicago lair, the band explored and unleashed sonic sides of them not previously tapped. The resulting gem is guaranteed to shock and dazzle new and old fans alike, and will be forthcoming from ANTI- Records (no, not just because they share half a name), known for distinguished releases over the years from such artists as Solomon Burke, Tom Waits, the Refugee All-Stars and Blackalicious.
As collaborators, members of Antibalas have worked with artists such as Bill T. Jones and Jim Lewis on the FELA Broadway musical, Paul Simon, TV on the Radio, Baaba Maal, Burning Spear, Public Enemy, The Roots, Angelique Kidjo, Sinead O’Connor, and Medeski, Martin and Wood. In addition, members of Antibalas have made their imprint on recordings by Mark Ronson, Ornette Coleman, Amy Winehouse, Beck, The Foals, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Gomez, and countless other bands from the underground to the multi-platinum, spanning the genres of funk, jazz, soul, rock, and experimental music.
Antibalas has truly become renowned via their relentless live show. And though it’s certainly no easy task to keep (and feed) such a vast ensemble on the road, the band has managed to average over 100 concerts a year, incessantly traversing the U.S, Canada and Europe in venues large and small be they the sweaty clubs of Brooklyn or in front of hordes of festival goers in places like Bonnaroo, Bumbershoot, Montreux and Roskilde exclaimed “their music is right on time,” while the New York Times, the New Yorker, Rolling Stone Magazine and a slew of others have taken serious notice. Make no mistake, as XLR8R exclaims, Antibalas are indeed “the baddest on the block.”
Winter Solstice is the longest night of the year. It is the time of year to go deep within to renew and regenerate your energy. It is a time of rebirth, a time to plant seeds for the future and to set intentions for the next cycle as we return to light.
As we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence actually liberates others.
Wishing you positive energy to move into the light.

-I have already seen documentaries that talks about the topic, where it is said that all these images that seem like flowers or etc. who are seen in "the extrasensory states" as it has been described in many cultures across the history of the humanity. Some of them with hallucinations for some stimulant or with near to the death experiences where there are liberated many nice chemicals who also produce the same perception. But recently I found something very interesting. There is a Russian, Alexander Balankin, that devotes himself to the fractal mechanics. And between the applications that they have found there are quite interesting ones. These fractals are related to the Chaos Theory. That is the only way of describing how a mess is produced with small changes in a seemingly simple function. And also these chaotic behaviors also have repetitions, or, it seems chaotic but turns so repetitive that forms something that even seems harmonic. The snow flakes, the pollen in the flowers, Human Behaviour etc.
