Beautifully set at the foot of the windswept Swedish mountains lies the small city of Östersund. This is where Jonas Jonsson dresses up in a slender, white suit under his moniker Bedroom Eyes, armed with songs that aim to be vivid and short compounds of bright melodies and heartfelt matters.
Wrapping an exploding indie pop with unrequested love, wishful thinking, unwavering trust in infinite possibilities, wrong roads taken, blissful hopes and a constantly present longing to belong.
Releasing two demo-EPs - Embrace In Stereo EP (2006) and Valentine Vacancy EP (2007) - for free online download stirred up a massive internet hype (140.000 downloads of the underground hit Motorcycle Daydream alone) and numerous large music magazines and newspapers such as Rolling Stone and Der Spiegel gave the EPs raving reviews.
Bedroom Eyes cut the top five in the world's most popular blog artists in early 2007 according to music statistics site Elbows and this publicity boom has to date given the demo songs airplay on radio stations in more than twenty countries worldwide, despite the lack of a record deal.
A five-piece backing band joins the euphoric live shows, crediting amongst a number of Scandinavian festival performances a critically praised apperance at Norway's biggest festival Quart in 2007.
Bedroom Eyes is now in the process of mixing the debut album recorded in Norwegian all-analogue studio Ocean Sound Recordings engineered by Herman Söderström (The Cardigans, Hello Saferide). Hopefully Der Spiegel will be proven right when predicting that Bedroom Eyes will not stay unsigned for long.
