Bittersweet - one word, two moods. No symphony, no me, no pretence. Real songs combining melody, harmony and honesty with an edge. Bitter words. sweet sounds. All that you hear has happened, is happening now or will happen.
Bittersweet released the debut album, 'Lying, Drinking and Losing' on their own Realesque Records label in June 2005. A startling collection of 11 songs that combined a black and white truth with technicolour brilliance, the album had a shade for every mood. Moments of euphoria, depression, fear, doubt, hate and triumph all seamlessly merged into forty-five minutes of aural pleasure.
But every action screams out for a reaction and Mick Heath, one half of the original songwriting team left shortly before release to pursue his own goals. Roly Bailey hit a rich songwriting vein, recruited new vocalist Karl Ficarotta and headed back into the studio to commence work on the follow-up album, tentatively entitled 'Postcard from Nowhere'. And then became now...
