Rumours are only rumours, but it is said that after seeing the film WOODSTOCK he learned to play some of those tunes in the back of the school bus with maori singers the Kingi Brothers from Waiherere Pa. The truth is that he ran away from home ( a lemon farm in NZ ) to surf at Bells Beach in 1970 , but awoke five years later in a haze in a little commune in Nimbin after doing what the roman's do. The next day he hitched a ride to the beach to go for that surf but ended up as a snapper & lobster fisherman on NSW North Coast . Just to clear the head, you know how it is folks ! In 1979 he bribed the Maritime Services Board to give him a skippers ticket and spent the next twenty years sailing in yachts and working at sea . Moved ashore for a while and completed journalism and art courses and enjoyed a few wives and three kids ( Hi Beki, Hi Dan, Hi Will ) over the decades. Beki is a beautiful voice and good guitar and banjo picker who lives in the UK. Spent most of last year busking and picked some neat tunes & recorded with cousin Joe Huttton from Whangarei, Great Scott the Human Shaker & Sheepdog Lee Wilson. More recently recording at Thorley Delta Slide Guitar Works. LOVE TO JAM - LOVE TO SURF - LOVE TO LAUGH - Folks, ain't it good to be alive ! ! !
Captain Tricko also works as a sailing instructor for SUNSHINE SAILING - based at Mooloolaba Wharf.

The BIG FAT WORLD Busking Tour which started in NZ in Feb 2009 continues without definite strategy. Japan & Vanuatu are strong possible destinations for a bit of blues busking ( see GIG GUIDE ). These cigar box guitars could also be twanging at your market, on your cruise ship, in your cafe or maybe at your backyard bbq. Captain Tricko plays his folk n blues gigs with remote powered Yamaha Stagepass PA - Any boat, any beach, any event ! ! ! Hey Captain, I'm stoked you like the "Special". it was an honour and a priviledge making it for you, I knew it was gonna be a good'un before I even strung it up.Sometimes I can just tell lol.I'm bloody pleased I got to catch you play, cos it was a great lesson in playing CBGs, that, and listening to your cd has made me a better player. Captain Tricko!!! I miss ya dude! Shall look forward to April fools day with busking business. Until then Happy red scootering and many cd sales and good times! All is well here, just getting back into music the last few days. We have been busy organising over seas tour. CIRCUS style! Much sunny Qld love and eat fush un chups for me pete.
