Bio
..........NEW CD - ANTS IN THE SUGAR.... ..Price: $12.00.. .. .. .. .. .. .... Cone Five was a noise-pop band from Winnipeg, Manitoba, formed in late 1999 and dissolved in mid 2006. The overall sound was a mixture of anger and sweetness, primarily realized in the sharing of lead vocal duties by Matt and Leslie. Correspondingly, the sound ranged in scope from ultra-heavy punk/metal-inspired material to bubblegum and surf. Live shows were loud, energetic and unpredictable. The guitar loomed large in the band's sound, and inspiration came from a variety of surprising and incongruous influences. The band's fifth and final album, "Ants in the Sugar", is to be released by new Winnipeg imprint Grumpy Cloud Records on August 3, 2007. The band's fourth album "Fond Of" was released through Winnipeg-based Conifera Records, and its first three albums "Songs for Dust", "De-ionized Water" and "Picture of Wheat" were self-released under the moniker Dismal Failure Records. The new album will be the band's most extreme and adventurous statement to date. Thank you for your continued interest in Cone Five. .... -
