Crossborders fuses together the aspect of live performances by talents across the Asian region playing on the same stage, sharing music from different parts of the world. Catered mainly to rock music, it is an effort to unify all these bands from the region to create a larger music scene and at the same time, benefit through international exposure.

Crossborders happens every 4th Thursday of the month at Laundry Bar, The Curve@Mutiara Damansara. Event starts at 10pm and admission is Free.

ABUSE THE YOUTH

Abuse the Youth have built an enviable reputation since forming in 2006. These 3 Bangkok residents, Mick (guitar/vocals) Ju (drums) and Toonz (bass) know all to well how to capture and enthral their audience. With a powerful guitar driven sound, their songs of love and loss, hope and despair are presented with such raw power and authority that they draw fans from both the indie and metal scenes. This was most evident at Thailands Fat Festival 2007 where they drew a huge crowd of indie kids and metal heads. Their growing popularity has seen them playing shows in Malaysia as well as touring across Thailand with 100 Rock and Mind the Gap. In addition to this they can regularly be caught playing shows in their hometown Bangkok. Abuse The Youth were voted "Best New Band" at Thailand Headbanger 2008 and have been nominated for "Best Newcomer" at this years prestigious Fat Radio Awards.

This year sees the band back in the studio recording their eagerly awaited debut album after releasing the well received "Accidental EPidemic" six track EP in 2007

BAU

From combination of Indie, Pop, Rock trends, emerge the raw and unique music of BAU. This captivating new 5-pieces alternative rock Malay band was found in early 2002 on the initiative of Ash, who worked as an producer, arranger and songwriter white nurturing a vision to create a group that would lift the local music scene to a new level. With music as the prime connection. Ash teamed up with Chot, Dino, Audee and An .From the onset, these 5 young lads fused their talents to produce phenomenal ideas. Ash is the acknowledged pinnacle of the band, but truly, it is the band's songs that separate them as accomplished artistes in their own right. Their music depicts a bold and vibrant streak, laced with lyric that exude penetrating originality.

ALTERED FREQUENCY

Altered Frequency is one of the most energetic bands to come out of Malaysia. These five passionate guys make up a band that's about making a difference. Their music serves as an anthem for this generation to live out loud without compromise in their values. Their debut album "Exalt" was launched in December of 2004 and has been causing ripples in the local music scene; garnering a nomination for "Best New English Artiste" in the 2005 edition of Malaysia's premiere awards "Anugerah Industri Muzik". The title track "Exalt" and "No" received airplay on Malaysian radio with the support of deejays at Hitz.fm, Red 104.9 and Xfresh fm. Their growing fan base was evidenced in the dominance of their latest single "The Sun Will Shine Again" on the Xfresh charts for many weeks! And recently in 2007, the band's all-time favourite hits "Running Back to You and "No have both stayed many weeks at No. 1 on FLY FM's Campur Chart !

The band has been blazing a trail all over the country and beyond. Most recently the band went on tour in Australia, rocking the campuses in cities of Melbourne and Adelaide in August 2006. Destined for greater things ahead, Altered Frequency had the privilege of opening for Delirious on 2nd Feb 2006 at AYA Festival which was held in Putra Stadium this year. They have also shared the stage with international Christian rock act Sonicflood and Australian sensation Planetshakers at Sonic Fest 2005 in Fort Canning Gardens, Singapore. And at AYA Festival 2007, the band shares the stage again with Sonicflood. Other highlights of the band included playing at the Asia Pacific Youth Alive Conference 2003 and Sonic Fest 2004, Singapore.
