   About Daniel Clay
"DANIEL CLAY doesn't travel the same dusty roads as folk shouters Woody Guthrie or Bob Dylan. His stark and stylish strumming and ominous songwriting offer a welcome sense of malevolence to the craft. Whether singing from the rooftop of the Mattress Factory Lofts or mesmerizing audiences at gallery shows with religious melancholy, Clay is a man in black, pursued by a cloud of the same color. He's a sinner in the hands of an angry God. Only his voice will set him free." creative loafing's critic's pic for best traditional folk act in atlanta, 2005

i was born december 19, 1978 in jacskon, mississippi. i've spent most of my life, however, in an around atlanta, georgia. i began playing guitar at 13, studied music in college, and began writing songs several years ago. my first solo album "the protestant" is now available on itunes and at http://www.danielclaymusic.com/

Come out for a hootin', hollerin', good time with folk music, workshops, good southern home cookin', apple bobbing, brew, friends, family, and great stories to tell!

A benefit for George Sossenko, Spanish Civil War Veteran, to publish his book, The Idealistic Adventurer!

I know it's a little belated, but I wanted to thank you for the CD, I love it!

Whenever I listen to your song 'Children with Machetes' I think of Henry and Zach running around Matinicus 2-3 summers ago with Machetes and other sharp implements.

I look foreword to seeing you and hearing more music next summer!
