David Gaudet has been an active member of Ottawa’s music community for the last 6 years. He has been lucky enough to play supporting roles for notable Ottawa songwriters Meredith Luce, Ana Miura, Sarah Hallman, Lindsay Ferguson, Tiiu Millistver, Amanda Rheaume, Brian Simms, Lisa Poushinsky, and George Birchall. He is also a contributing member of popular Ottawa Jam/Pop group LURE.
In early 2007 David began tracking some of his original tunes with friend and band mate, Ottawa producer Dean Watson at Gallery Studios. In late spring, David was also awarded the 2007 CBC Galaxie Rising Star Award, which was presented to him by Galaxie Folk/Roots program director Roch Parisien. This self-titled, 35 minute EP has received critical acclaim, earning a four-star review in the Ottawa Xpress. It has received national airplay on CBC radio’s Bandwidth and All in a Day programs programs, and was nominated for best folk/country album of the year in the Ottawa Xpress’s annual readers’ poll. (David was nominated for best new artist in the same poll.) His song “Wrecking Ball” was selected by the Ottawa Citizen to be on “A Year of Capital Rock”, a compilation highlighting the best of Ottawa music in 2007. Wrecking was quoted as being “A surprisingly upbeat musing on slackerdom. The toe-tapping beat is the perfect fuse with this O-town upstart's princely pipes.”
Hey buddy, Miss you much. Enjoying "You Weren't There." :) I'll try to send you some demos sometime so we can do this cross-provincial collaboration thing we talked about ages ago. xoxo --- Mer

Thanks for accepting my friends request. I really enjoy listening to your baritone voice and personal lyrics. I noticed you have a gig with QR5 in March, say hi to them for me. We did a double-bill gig together back in the fall.
