The music of singer/songwriter David Molinari incorporates elements of folk, rock, and jazz, reflecting Dave's diverse musical background. Dave himself is a multi-instrumentalist (keyboards, guitars, harmonica, you name it) and is joined by Mark Lundell on bass and Eddie Eicher on drums.
One of the distinctives of Dave's approach is the highly improvisational environment he fosters. Any member of the band might take things in a different direction at any point by changing the dynamics or the beat or the feel. In fact, they'll hardly ever play a song the same way twice. So no matter how many times you've come to one of Dave's gigs, you'll always hear something fresh.
This paradigm of spontaneity is expanded further when the band hosts one of it's now famous "collaboration events." At these gigs, they'll invite other musicians to sit in with the band at various points throughout the evening. Many times, these guest artists are singer/songwriters who rarely if ever perform with a back-up band, so it gives their fans a unique opportunity to hear their compositions with full instrumentation. Other times, the guest artist is another band which will generally perform a few songs on their own before merging with the David Molinari Band for a true tour de force on several collaboration tunes.
But it's Dave's own songs that are the biggest draw for his many fans, along with the creativity, energy, and "fire" of the soloing and ensemble work by the entire band.
