ElementSircus is an annual experimental multimedia small-scale festival celebrating on the longest day and night of the year - Winter and Summer Solstice. The costumed encouraged ElementSircus has seen the likes of many amazing experimental boundry breaking bands, performance artists, dancers, film and video artists, improv, freak shows, fire spinners, DJ's, circus acts, recycle artists, games, artisans, robots, bike briggade/ ballet, multimedia experimenters, stilt walkers, spoken wordists, percussionists, and the list goes on and on.
Currators of the event, Absent Sound have teamed up with Ragpickers Anti-fashion Emporium to host what many say is one of the most important underground cultural events to come out of Winnipeg. This festival would not be possble without all the incredible help from so many volunteers from the community throughout the years. This is an audience involved event from the costumes they wear to the percussion jams to organizing and performing.

Please let me extend my warmest invitation to Jewels, the brand-new multimedia dance-drama from Manohar Performing Arts of Canada (Western Canada's premiere Indian classical dance troupe) in association with VoidHouse Productions (Joshua Stanton) and Ambient Empire Films Inc.
The program, premiering at Pantages Playhouse on Thursday March 27th at 7 p.m. , features a full-length dramatic dance performance in the electrifying classical styles of Kathak and Bharatnatyam, linked with five short films exploring dimensions of theme within our story. Ambient Empire, Joshua Stanton, and Manohar have spared no value in bringing forth what is hoped to be a new height in locally-produced theatre.
Produced under the aegis of the Victoria General Hospital Foundation, the work is presented as a fundraiser for the Minimally Invasive Surgery Program. Tickets can be purchased from Ms. Liz Bilton at the VGHP (477-3414) or from Ganga Dakshinamurti (837-3757). 'Pearl' tickets (rush seating) are an eminently affordable alternative for students & young people at $15 each.
Please come out and enjoy this thrilling multimedia spectacular!
Check our page & your bulletin-space for specials, features, and upcoming events including sales, T.V. spots, and shows in our theatre! RAGPICKERS on MySpace will also include a monthly showcase featuring bands & artists that have played here, and links to their pages & websites. You can also find plenty of nutty pics from our archives, and posters from events both past and coming. --And feel free to post your own event-pics & promotionals in our comment-space!
