Bio
.. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..My Funny Valentine...... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. 22 years ago I was born in to a big family in a little city called Jyväskylä, Finland. I was raised to play and sing, for my parents are both musicians. Actually, everyone in my family are working as musicians. For me music, specially songwriting, has been the easiest way to express myself. I wrote my first song when I was rejected by a boy at the ge of 11. Might sound funny but it was serious then! I was so bummed out so I sat down, laid my hands on the piano and all my emotions turned into melodies. After that I convinced that composing, performing and music in general is going to be my lifework. Second thing close to my heart is acting. In addition to performing and writing I work as a session musician and I write for big bands and strings. I..ve played hundreds of gigs around the world (Kenya, Italy, Tenerife, Estonia, South Africa, United States etc.) including energetic and wild cover bands, folk/jazz/pop ensembles, a cappella ensembles and solo performances (voice/piano/guitar). After achieving a world tour scholarship, I got the opportunity to attend Berklee College of Music in 2008. There I have been honored to study and play with people such as: Rhiannon, Walter Beasley, Joey Blake, Steven Santoro, Susan Cattaneo, Gabrielle Goodman, Soffie, Sophie Grobler, Manu Laudic, George Woods to name a few. I don..t want to have any limits in the styles I do, the most important thing is that me, the people I'm playing with and the listeners enjoy it. Stay tuned! With all my love, Eva Please, feel free to contact me here or to my email elouhivuori@berklee.net _______________________ "Amazing voice" Rumba Magazine/Jean Ramsay, 21/2007 _______________________ "..It..s unbelievable how singer Eva Louhivuori combines emotion, feeling and technical skills in her voice.." Keskisuomalainen 12/14/2007 ______________________ "Eva sings beautifully, there is beautiful melodies in the songs and they have been arranged with consideration" Sue Magazine/Pyry Hallamaa 8/10 ______________________ "Eva Louhivuori is a phenomenal singer, sensual, confident and colorful" Aamulehti/Jussi Niemi 4/27/2008 ______________________ "Her voice is so diverse. The way the band (Captain Cougar) performed seemed natural and singer Eva Louhivuori conjured an intimate mood to the club with her sweet appearence" Rumba Magazine/Raija Silfverberg 06/08 _______________________ "The first thing that strikes you is obviously the vocalist Eva Louhivuori. She is absolutely wonderful vocalist. What a voice. She is so fabulous that I'm almost starting to think that she is too good. I've spent my life listening to all kind of whispering bedroom pop or country singers who drink a gallon of whiskey before enterering the recording studio. I'm certainly not used to someone singing so well..so beautifully.. so purely." Hey,
Thanks for the connection !
Tell me when are these times that I have dreams about
Are they mere memories of better days gone by
Unsubstantial fancies fated to fade away
Or horizons waiting to be arisen to ?
And the fire I felt when this hope was brand new
When not even Everest could have kept me from you
Has it burned its brightest or just given a hint
Does it smolder for chance or consume its last fuel ?
And the bridge you promised would serve as my footing
Had I strayed from the path or was my step unsure
Perchance that fall was meant to complete my healing
So I'd see for myself what my strength could endure ?
Weren't you the blue bird that had awaken me
As I laid in the cold suffering of torment
Sung me out of starving, loathing and lethargy
Invited me to rise and resume my ascent ?
As I now look forward to more of your magic
Contemplating what so far had kept me bemused
Just ahead are the times I have dreamt ecstatic
I see the horizons and I am reinfused
Best wishes,
Chris
