   About Fictional Detectives
Fictional Detectives (not to be confused with The Fictional Detectives) is a one-member band currently located in Victoria, BC. Instruments utilized by FD include guitar, mandolin, accordion, keyboard, and an $8 organ which was purchased at a church garage sale (bench included!) The band enjoys doing recreational mathematics in their free time, and will be relocating to Durham, NC in August.
A five song EP titled "The Adventures of Hercule Poirot", or perhaps "The Continuing Adventures of Hercule Poirot" (or perhaps neither) is currently being recorded, and will most likely be completed during the summer months. The tentative track listing is as follows.

1. Poirot Investigates
2. The Incredible Theft
3. The Submarine Plans
4. The Tragedy at Marston Manner
5. Curtain

I'll make an effort to finish a few hats. I had intended to finish them earlier this month, but I got sidetracked.

Ah. I thought you were referring to me as sir in some sort of weird abbreviated North Carolinian form. (which was weird, but now it makes sense)

Bontempi Sr. is still sitting in my living room. I'm considering taking the whole thing apart. I might attempt to seperate the organ from the wooden base, but I'm not sure if it's possible. It might have to involve some hammer swinging. I'm at least going to try to remove the bit that's stuck in the speaker output on the back of the organ.

I thought the Young Lions myspace page needed some sprucing up, so I switched the songs. Those songs had been there for around 8 months. I can upload Bontempi again if you'd like.

I've made the first few hats, and as soon as I get a few days off, I'll go into mass production. The design isn't perfect, but I think it works well enough. I'm excited to hear the last song.

I hope your move went smoothly.

How about I play a song or two this Friday on the show (probably between 5 and 6ish...)? Does that sound cool?
Joni

Jul 27 2006 1:51 AM

Thanks for listening! I was in the studio until 5:30, so chances are you probably heard me somewhere in there. And I'm going to be on again this Friday from 4-5... would it be alright if I played one of your songs during the show?

Where are you moving to?

The $12 set is filled with water but a friend of mine just got a very nice clay set for $40 there (they were well balanced, I tried them out)

Never mind. Although I'd argue otherwise, wikipedia felt that Fictional Detectives is a band "not asserting significance". The article was deleted minutes after I published it.
