dark chocolate, trappist ales, jiu-jitsu, film theory, record shopping, travel...
ps: the spice must flow.
Music
Where to begin?? I work for a record shop. I sometimes play records in public and I have a webpage for that... I play a style of music that is sometimes known as the wrong - othertimes referred to as whatever I want... what I play is often vastly different from what I listen to, though...
here are some things I've been listening to lately:
Judee Sill, Thin Lizzy, Idha, Nurse With Wound, Sleep, Brigitte Fontaine, Arthur Brown, Lush, My Bloody Valentine, Sonic Youth, Wings, Lucifer's Friend, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Roxy Music, Prince, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Pale Saints, Legendary Pink Dots.
things I've been playing lately:
Venetian Snares, Laf-O, Otto Von Schirach, Drop The Lime, µ-ziq, Aphex Twin, Kode 9, Pinch, Mouse, La Peste, Atomly, Skream, Shackleton, Dr. Butcher MD, Overcast, Squarepusher, Ceephax, Akufen...
specific films:
Pola X, Rules Of Attaction, May, Diggstown, Brick, Schramm, Black Sunday, Ratcatcher, Maelström, Morvern Callar, Saló...
and movies that combine any two of the following: copious gore, zombies, vampires, lesbians, necrophilia.
Television
I went more than two years without a tv... there's one here now, but it's exclusively used for watching movies and mma.
Books
I used to bury myself in books, but not so often nowadays. Sad but true... some favourites...
Hope - Glen Duncan
Trout Fishing In America - Richard Brautigan
Pierre - Herman Melville
The Sun Also Rises - Hemingway
One Hundred Years Of Solitude - Gabriel Garcia Marquez
Post Office - Bukowski
Less Than Zero - Bret Easton Ellis
About me: I live in Montreal, Canada... I've been DJing for close to 20 years and haven't care about fame or fortune for a long time. I play what I want to play - and play it the way I think is most interesting. It's all about expression.
Mixes:
Schizophrenia 3. Unfortunately the DAT machine documenting the event was no longer able to handle the heat & humidity, and missed a few sets, including mine... This is the redux version, with the same tracklisting, generated in the days following the event.
Dubbed. Roughly 60 minutes of dubstep, techno and downtempo. Mixed on three turntables July 10th, 2008.
The Almighty Acid mix. Rendered with Ableton on July 27th, 2007. 63 minutes long, and spanning the history of acid techno. There's hard acid, classic acid, dark acid, freak out stuff... it's a short, weird ride.
I'm working on a film studies degree at the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema, but don't really know what I'll do with it once I have it. Once upon a time that was the sort of thing that would prevent me from doing something - I don't really concern myself with that anymore.
Live at Pote:tr - Saturday August 18th
beatjuggling nonsense using two copies of Boom Hunter by Duran Duran Duran
Who I'd like to meet: people who can think for themselves... people who create the music, film and books that inspire me...
if you think you're one of these people - send me a message... I'm done with blindly accepting friend requests from people I'll likely never have any kind of contact with. Sorry.

"Over the last few decades Detroit has established a reputation for producing some of the most unique, enduring and intelligent electronic music on the planet. Void Tactical Media's provocative first offering takes any pre-conceived notions one may have regarding MotorCity techno and spins them around at 33.3rpm. Split Horizon and Jstat have each combined elements of noise, electro and broken beats to generate music that is a radical departure from the Detroit legacy, but couldn't have come from anywhere else. The four tracks on the record have been honed and refined during countless live performances over the last year, and are served up in final mixes that are versatile enough to be reworked by capable DJs - yet strong enough to stand on their own. " - Fishead
This 12" vinyl comes in a hand printed sleeve, screened by From the Gut.
Recorded live at Club Transmediale Festival in Berlin on January 29th 2008. The performance uses mainly sounds from my forthcoming album, to be released by Crónica later in 2008. Download at www. cronicaelectronica. org/?p=cronicaster
