What the Critics are saying:

"Five Star Prison Cell make beautiful noise that is much more intelligent than it will probably get credit for!" - ROLLING STONE

"I like it, its definently the kind of stuff i would listen to if i just wanted to get trashed or fucked up outta my mind..." - EVA ANGELINA (Adult Film Star)

"Five Star Prison Cell have released one of the most intricate, brutal, confronting, challenging and downright awe-inspiring jaunts of the year!" - OZ PROG

“Rivals most metal bands you're likely to encounter!” - DRUM MEDIA

“An incredible experience! Adam Glynn has obviously spent his time wisely since his departure from Frankenbok!” - THE BUZZ MAGAZINE

“Their purposely defiant screw-loose metal still reigns numerically and technically supreme!” – BEAT MAGAZINE

“8/10! Slaves Of Virgo takes everything from The Complete First Season and multiplies it. This one is off the hook!” - THE METAL FORGE.COM

   About FIVE STAR PRISON CELL

THE LOWDOWN

Dubiously labeled a "Tech metal", or "Math Rock" band, Five Star Prison Cell offer a different and non-conformist approach to songwriting.

Brutally heavy, Dark and foreboding with the ability to switch time, pace, genre and style at the drop of a hat; Adam, Cam, Mark and Marc take great pleasure in constantly challenging themselves while at the same time serving up a dish of fresh new and always evolving ideas to their unsuspecting but ever growing fan base.

Early 2005 saw the release of their debut album “The Complete First Season” through Faultline records/Shock Australia, with a great response and raving reviews on and off stage, FSPC managed to secure their first international support later that year with Arch Enemy. By late 2006 Five Star Prison Cell had shared the stage with such bands as Bloodduster, Spiderbait, Psycroptic, Daysend, Terrorust, Fuck... I'm Dead, Alarum, Minus Life, Karnivool, Mortal Sin, Alchemist plus many more. Although spending most of 2006 recording and preparing for their second album Five Star managed to take away the 2006 Music Oz award for best Metal/Hardcore band as well as secure a spot on Queensland’s Overcranked festival as well as an east coast tour with Danzig (2nd International support) and Blood Duster.

2007 has seen the release of their second album Slaves of Virgo out now in Australia and New Zealand. Receiving great press, reviews and media coverage. Their busiest year to date, Five Star Prison Cell embarked on a nation tour to support the release of the album hitting every major city at least 3 times in the space of 4 months. FSPC also played 2007’s Against The Grain Festival, Sonic Forge Festival, Festival Of the Dead and Slayfest. Late 2007 has seen the band tour nationally with The Black Dahlia Murder (USA) and Cephalic Carnage (USA) as well as play overseas for the first time with shows in Auckland and Wellington (N.Z), Leave Faultine Records and finished the year of performing and presenting an award at the 2007 MusicOz Awards.

2008 is shaping up to be a busy year with Metalstock 2008, Overcranked, The Dillinger Escape Plan supports and international tours. The band have currently starting writing there 3rd album and will be touring nationally and internationally throughout the year As well as re release The Complete First Season and Slaves of Virgo independently.

Hello to all,
Just thought we'd stop by and say thank you ,to all the awesome bands that have sent in their material which has been aired on the show throughout the years.

We have had an exceptional response through myspace from some of the most talented underground musicians in the world . It is your contribution to our show that show people that there are still actually real musicians out there [and rap is surely not damn music, neither is that techno crap].

Undergroundsounds airs throughout Australia Thursday/Saturdays p.m.

Bands that would like their music aired on any future shows can forward their material to the address below;
