irish singer AIDAN has been developing his style on stages in ireland and mainland europe since 1996... sharing the stage and tape with artists as diverse as bobby mc ferrin, jinx lennon, wallis bird and jenny lindfors, he has explored many different aspects of his personality and sound.
during this musical exploration, AIDAN composed and recorded his findings, continuously getting closer to a sound that he can call his own. when asked what his music sounds like, he responded:
"... what i hear in my head today is very different to what i heard yesterday. i hope that tomorrow will bring a sound i haven't heard in my life yet up to today! i like to think that my music sounds like what i feel, what i see, what i smell and especially what i hear when i sit down to play - sometimes even what i touch!"
a product of your environment, so?
"well i don't like to think of my music as the sound of traffic noise, but more or less, yes."
from the american folk-rock collection of songs that is 2002's WALKING INTO WALLS, 2004's lo-fi folk-rock concept album WAITING FOR THE TIDE TO RISE, 2005's stunning live mini-album, LIVE AT BEWLEYS, through psychedelic folk trio, TEA and eccentric 7-peice acoustic collective THE HAPPY GANG, the tapes that i heard of his new project, LORD ALTMONT were an unexpected delight! LORD ALTMONT is a worldly, diverse and mature affair that had every hair on my body standing on end.
here is an artist worth keeping an ear to on every turn and there are many turns!

Hallo you!! I'm touring with Celtic Thunder. Have to be careful what we say as the fans befriending me everyday.refusing them on facebook hence I'm suddenly on myspace again! It's great craic on the road, everyone is lovely, we play amazing places and venues, have massive following in the states! The fans consider us celebrities which is quite funny! We live on tourbuses, hotel on days off. Tour buses are slick, like something you'd see on cribs! Quite the life we lead on the road. Its not all glamourously though, it gets tedious... Groundhog day syndrome! And I miss my man terribly when I'm away. Not easy on him being away 2-3 months at a time. I'm back in Dublin though for 5-6 mths now as next tour not til summer woopwoop! So hoping Vyvienne Long will do a tour/release album so I have some work! Also be nice to do music I like and I feel challenged by!
Anyway other than touring 7 mths out of the last year I managed to do some personal travelling in the summer. Myself and brian went to Thailand Laos Vietnam and Cambodia for 2 months. Was amazing. Vietnam is particularly fascinating. We spent month there. I bought myself a Nikon D90 there. Traded in my old canon DSLR for it. We also bought an old asahi pennywell pentax manual slr there but strap broke very 1st night and it fell onto marble floor. Devastated. Was really nice. Bogey pol fixed it for us. Not such a great job. SO todayi bought brian a nikon FM2n old manual slr on eBay eek. Seems in mint condition so fingers crossed for me! You recommend that camera? I did some research so think it's one of the best. Well I've written too much prob! Let me know when your around town/ranelagh x
I got your comments! Did you not see my retort regarding ALL of Norway? Some good times, I must say. Must put more silliness up there. You are missed. xx

Mister Aidan... Where are you in this world?! I have not gazed upon your face in such a long time, and it's a crying shame. I only saw your post from June now!!!! What's the cello song like?you'll have to send it to me! Xxx
Tried to Dwnload the second mix...(or the third, the second of correct running order, maybe your thousandth try...)...seems to be not anymore on the server!
