   About Foxface

"THIS IS WHAT MAKES US is Foxface’s 2007 debut album which, capturing this magical mix of personal narrative and folkish storytelling, is utterly captivating in it’s iridescent originality. Recorded at Lanarkshire’s appraised Chem 19 Recordings by producer Andy Miller (Mogwai, Sons & Daughters, Delgados, Arab Strap…), the album renders beautifully the world in which Foxface exist; one where visceral nature meets quiet recollection, and where an ancient magic envelops the everyday. This album marries memory with a strong sense of place and history, giving it an unmistakable and essentially Scottish identity, but still retaining the international pop sensibility of a truly important band. We love Foxface, and hope that you will too…"

( Shaun & Martin - Gargleblast Records)

THIS IS WHAT MAKES US was released in November 2007, and can be purchased at all good record shops, or online through Gargleblast Records, iTunes etc. The album was accompanied by the downloadable single LAST WALTZ, also available online. The video made for LAST WALTZ can be seen here.....

Foxface are a three-piece band based in Glasgow, Scotland. They released a self-funded debut 7” Monster Seas/Across To Texa in April 2006, contributed a track to Chemikal Underground Records’ critically applauded ’Ballads Of The Book’ compilation in early 2007, and have now recorded their eagerly anticipated debut album ’This Is What Makes Us’ for Gargleblast Records. Recently the band has embarked on a tour supporting Idlewild’s Roddy Woomble, as well as appearing at the Isle of Skye, Greenman, Indian Summer and Belladrum Festivals. Their live performances have become legendary in Scotland, a menagerie of eclectic instrumentation and eccentric costume giving them an air of the otherworldly, one where folk heritage blends with modern rock and roll.

Foxface are: Michael Angus (Guitar/Vocals), Jenny Bell (Bass/Vocals) & John Ferguson (Drums/ Accordian/Banjo/Mandolin)

Hey all! Once again you save me! I've been a crappy mood as i've just started some training where i have to live 6 hours away from everyone i know for 6 months and had a crappy first 2 days. Something made me check out your page and i see theres a new song! It's brilliant and put a smile on my face. It doesn't matter what any of your songs are about they always makes me smile, its just the whole cacophony of sounds, seem to soothe me.
Thanks

HELP US SAVE CAPITOL!!!!

I am absolutely dismayed as to the reasons behind the shutting of Capitol...

Myself and Mandy love working there & we have worked really hard to make sure that every band that comes to OUR venue is treated well & has the best possible sound.

We really do care about Capitol, we look after our kit and the venue to keep it in the best shape we can, putting in LOADS of extra UNPAID hours just to try and make it a cut above the rest of the crap out there in Glasgow, and i think everyone, ourselves, you guys the musicians & all of the great promoters have succeeded in building something rare & special, a venue that actually gives a shit!

I seriously hope G1 will see that this is something worth saving, not just for the sake of a couple of jobs, myself's and Mandy's - but for the sake of the whole Glasgow music scene.
If you've ever played at Capitol, had a good time and been treated well, don't be lethargic if you're sitting there reading this - all it will take is two minutes to leave a comment on the Capitol myspace supporting the cause & hopefully we can swing it!

Click on the banner above to go to the Capitol myspace & help us out!

Cheers.

Roddy
