Over a handful of shiraz-soaked midnight sessions, GBGV sculpted their debut album ENTER with up and coming Brisbane producer Darek 11000 (DiscoNap), whose credits include Screamfeeder and The Whats. GBGV filled the studio with lilies, owls, bawdy art, handcuffs and blue literature - anything to get the right juices flowing.
From the convict court drama of ‘Crimes’ to the caressingly delicate ‘Woman Who Is All Heart’, the songs on ENTER are a heady mix of romantic narrative, gorgeous arrangement & erotic duende. Reworkings of Serge Gainsbourg’s ‘Je Taime (Moi Non Plus)’ and Iggy Pop’s ‘Sister Midnight’ rest alongside original drop-d pleas for tenderness, late night tales of wanton love and the filmclip for their first single with bite ‘Wolfish’.
ENTER WILL BE AVAILABLE 2ND FEB 2010 - BRIS & MELB LAUNCHES IN FEB/MARCH 2010.
This writer has been attending the Melbourne Fringe Festival semi-religiously for more than two decades now... (this) is far and away THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN THERE... Epic psychosexual rock opera theatre of the fucking absurd... I defy anyone not to fall head over heels in deep dirty love with every single person on stage... If you only see one show at this year's Fringe, please, please, please make it this one. Yes.

Sometimes two things come together, conjuring art from where the light grows. A heady mix of sonic narrative & erotic ‘duende’ Ghostboy with Golden Virtues are avant-garde art rock brutes!
This is beautiful, various and very exotic
SPEX MAGAZINE (GERMANY)
Flanked by multi instrumentalist chanteuses Skye Staniford and Hannah Jane, acclaimed spoken ‘weird’ performance artist Ghostboy delivers his special blend of antagonism and sensuality with precise, almost sadistic delight. Dark horses Robbie Zawada + Paul Daly and Dan McNaulty (from We All Want To) round out the sound with electric guitars, bass and drums; while tap-dancing minx Loren Skyring sprinkles a little voodoo dust on the edges.
Popularly viewed as a left-field performance or cabaret ensemble, GBGV’s powerhouse performance is demonstrative of their credentials as a truly sterling live (art-)rock band…one of the most bizarre & brilliant gigs of the year
TIME OFF
Their pants-off-punk-kabaret-músik is not for the faint hearted. These underground creatures seduce audiences into a world of Berlin-style rock 'n' roll debauchery. Comparisons have been made to Nick Cave, Iggy Pop, Mojo Juju, John Cale, The Tiger Lillies, John Cooper Clarke, Serge Gainsbourg, The Pogues, Lovage, and Michelangelo & the Black Sea Gentlemen.
Ghostboy and Golden Virtues tie in the darkness of A Clockwork Orange with sweet, beautiful voices. Like a vampire and spook musical
WOODFORD FOLK FESTIVAL
Like rubbing a love bite with a slice of poison apple, GBGV is an intense live experience for the wild at heart. Infamous for their exploding live shows they have (dis)graced stages at Woodford Folk Festival; The Tivoli; The Zoo; the troubador; Byron Bay Writers Festival; QLD Poetry Festival; The Brisbane Cabaret Festival; & the Melbourne Fringe Festival where they presented tehir punk kabaret musikale “swallow & exit” over 5 nights in the festival hub’s main theatre! they have also occasionally disturbing the airwaves of JJJ, RRR and ZZZ.
With an ever-increasing live following since first forming in 2006, the GBGV experience delivers everything you (n)ever wanted - only for the bent of mind & brave of heart. Audiences are never safe, but always electric.
Their attitude is punk, but their musicianship supreme and their lyrics awaken deep desires that leave us blushing with recognition. Ghostboy and his stage lovers don’t believe that audiences are just there to watch. Ghostboy with Golden Virtues reminds us what art can be and what it’s really all about... the uninhibited kind that leaves you groaning and tingling with the understanding that love and wildness and passion can exist together
AUSSIETHEATRE.COM
A joyous rendition of Serge Gainsborough‟s „Je Taime (Moi Non Plus)‟ saw Ghostboy pulling punters onto the stage to participate… the bed broke under the weight of twenty aroused festival goers
TSUNAMI
I sat down and strapped myself in for the ride as Ghostboy with Golden Virtues took the spoken word, twisted it, whispered it.… teased and caressed it in a wonderful performance of a fearless love for language
