Greetings Traveller!
The Short Story;
“I’m an absolute musical obsessive, with a penchant for multi-instrumentalism. I’m nearly 6 foot tall. I like Cuban heels, and am no longer afraid to wear them in public.”
Born from a conversation between The Beatles and Ryan Adams across Elliott Smith's kitchen table (with Neil Finn cooking a wee chocolate cake in Bob Dylans oven), Gillan Edgar's music can only be described as incendiary pop/rock courted by inspired lyrics; a musical 'up yours' to pretentious indie bands who have the attitude but not the substance.
"Unashamed brilliance" - BBC.co.uk
"Should be made available on the NHS" – Tony Moore, Bedford/Regal Rooms
"It’s not about what Gillan Edgar has, it’s about what he’s lacking: A record deal… someone really ought to sort that out!"
- Chris Long, BBC Manchester
“He’ll probably be very big sometime soon, and good for him…..sometimes it just needs to be that easy”
-The Organ, underground music.
“Gillan's music isn't complicated, assuming or prescribing - it's just effing good…”
-Matt Bramford, Amelia’s magazine.
