RainyDay, in cooperation with the Grosse Pointe Village Association, is producing our second annual "Art on the Block" fair, to be held in conjunction with the Associations "Grosse Pointe's Greatest Block Party", taking place on Saturday September 12th and Sunday, September 13th 2009. The block party draws more than 10,000 visitors during this weekend of art, music, food and fun~!
We are still looking for some artists to get involved. The fee is only $100 for a 10x10 space. If anyone would like to be involved you can contact us at Rainydayartco@comcast.net or give us a call at (313)881-6305. We can pass on a run down of the event, application, etc. Or for more information on the block party event visit the associations website www.thevillagegp.com.

We just posted the blog about the Glass Art Society Conference (GAS)… beautiful, interesting, exciting glass-work like…
John Miller & a group of glass workers slammed together a 35 pounds, bacon, cheeseburger …a fat burger patty with lettuce, tomatoes, bacon, cheese & bans with sesame seeds… The hamburger was blown & worked using traditional glassblowing techniques.

Jessica VanAssche and Myself have been working extremely hard on creating a new Boutique. It's called Flair Boutique (2) and it's on Main Street, in Rochester MI. It's a second location from my 1st store in Royal Oak which will stay open happy as always.
We have been working non-stop to transforming this 2000 sq ft space and make it our own. From putting in the wood floors ourselves (thanks to Matt Aljain for great wood floor pricing) to creating and installing all the fixtures ourselves and finding some of the most talented artists, crafters and creators of one of a kind handmade items for us to sell.
All of our hard work has finally come to an end and we are celebrating.
And we want you all to be there, it would really mean a lot to us!
We will be featuring local Master Painter/Artist George Vhios (art gallery style), Designs by Donna, Hand Made Detroit's (wearable art by), ChainChainChain, Talking Squid, BirdsGather, Rewear Vintage, Citizen Jane, and so much more.
